On a water ride, I'll put mine in a waterproof bag. If DSLR, I usually carry a waterproof camera bag - if my mirrorless system, it's small enough to fit in a large Ziploc freezer bag. If I intend to shoot in wet conditions, I'll use a rain sleeve. For sudden downpours - I keep a ziploc in my back pocket on potentially rainy days, or will bring a water resistant bag along with me for other lenses, big enough to squeeze the camera in an emergency. I don't fear getting a little rain on my camera - most can handle more than you'd think - I've often shot in the rain with both my cameras and had them get wet - reasonable precaution to wipe them off, and watch where the water gets, usually does fine. On bumpy rides, I'm usually holding my camera, and often shooting with it...if I need both hands to hold on, then the camera will usually be in its bag or between my legs, with the strap wrapped around some body part so it can't go flying into the nether world if I lose grip on it.
