I was wondering where and how much it costs. I saw this in an online journal but it didn't give details. Thanks.

There's one in downtown disney and I belive there's one in Disney Hollywood Studios. The one in DTD is in the everything disney store if I remember correctly, I don't know where the DHS one is though.

The one in DHS is in the Star Wars store as you come off of the star tours ride.

Any difference between the two? Is one place better than the other? Just curious...My don will definitely want to do this, on this trip...New Star Wars fan:chewy: Fun to see his interest...

I don't remember it costing that much, maybe $20 at the most???

We did the one at DHS. There was a very nice CM who help my DS 5 build his light saber. We didn't know about the one at DTD. There really wasn't a big crowd, so my son probably got more personalized attention than normal.

You may want to be prepared with 2 extra C batteries. They give you some when you check out, but they were horrible. Ours also seems to work better without the color crystals they give you.

Have fun!

If you are going to be at both places then I recommend making the light saber at DTD. DTD is at Once Upon a Toy, there is more space to work and I think it is two sided so you can work on either side. The one at HS is one sided and the store is just more crowded with merchandise. A very nice CM helped DH and DS(5) make two last year. They are about $20.

We've made 3 of them so far all at Once Upon a Toy in DtD, and we were happy with our experiences there. The last one we did was a month and a half ago (Dec 08) and it cost $22.95 plus $1.50 tax= $24.45.

Happy saber-making! :)

I have to vote for making it at DHS!!! The day we were there the guy helping the kids was a total Star Wars geek! He could rattle off what every piece of the light saber represented and what every color of crystal represented, etc. It was amazing :) We didn't make one, but we watched him for a long time because it was so entertaining. At the toy store at DTD making the light saber was no different from filling a box of potato head parts-they'd help if you needed it, but no special Star Wars knowledge.
