This is my first post. I have been reading the boards for awhile and I'm very impressed with the information. We just bought BLT and going to use the dps at the end of August. We are very excited to stay on property for the first time. What area is best for kids at SSR? We have three little boys. Thanks so much!

Welcome Home! Welcome to the DIS Boards!!

With three little ones I reccomend the Grandstand or the Springs.

With the three little ones, the Springs would be nice. Close to the main Pool and restaurant/shop. We also stayed at Congress Park. Great view of Downton Disney at night and a nice quiet pool. Might be a nice option.

Either Grandstand or Springs. Both have themed pools with snacks and a mug refill station. Have a nice trip!

The Grandstand section is our favorite! The themed pool there is great. Our kids love it. The walk to the main pool is very short. Most importantly for us, is that it is the first bus stop to be dropped off and picked up. I have had 5 knee surgeries in the past 3 years. Having a seat on the bus is really important for me. Being the first stop pretty much guarantees that. With three little boys that might be a plus for you too.

Have a great trip!! We love SSR!!:goodvibes

Thank you everyone for taking the time to respond. I will try to call tomorrow to see if I can request those areas. I'm not sure if it is possible since I already made the reservation. :goodvibes

Called member service. They said that I can't request an area until 1 week before the reservation since it is dps.

:thanks: I appreciate the well and welcome wishes. Good to know that there are others like me that LOVE Disney.

Really?!? That sounds very odd to me, since I made the request for the area when I made our developer point reservation. I think I made the reservation and the area request in October. We took our trip in January.

We requested and got the Grandstand, and we were very happy with it. Our son was 3 at the time, and it worked well for us.

I would call back. I can't understand why they wouldn't allow you to make a request on the reservation.

Per the PPs, I like CP, the Springs or Grandstand. I would be happy with any of the three. If you think you'll want to spend the majority of your time at the feature pool, request the Springs. If you want to be closest to Downtown Disney (5 minute walk!) and have a beautiful view of DTD from the quiet pool, ask for Congress Park. If you want golf course views, less crowded buses (I believe Grandstand is the first stop), and a great quiet pool that the kids will enjoy, ask for Grandstand.

Enjoy your stay!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks. I will try again. Great information. We are very excited to stay at SSR.:goodvibes

I have two parts of SSR that I like.

First is Congress Park - Building 16. This buidling is right by the quiet pool and close to the walking path to DTD.

Second is The Springs - Building 35. When I'm on my "mommy only" trip I stay there because it's close to the restaurants and larger pool.

We have 2 boys (7 & 9) and we have really enjoyed both Congress Park and the Grandstands. I would have to say that Congress Park was our favorite with its proximity to DTD and the Carriage House/main pool.

Last trip, we stayed at the Grandstand, then moved to the Springs. We were much happier with the Grandstand. It was the first bus stop which I loved and also seemed much quieter. The main pool was a short walk. We didn't use the Grandstand pool, but it seemed nice. When we moved to the Springs, we were woken every morning by a beeping service truck going in reverse. It just seemed much noisier and wasn't worth the "convenience" of being a little closer to the pool.

We like to stay in the first building of the Paddock. It was right across the parking lot from the Carousel bus stop which at the time was the first bus stop coming and going.
