Where do you like to sit on a plane?

Front or back? Window, centre or aisle seat? Any reason why?

I like front - quieter in front of the jet engines and off the plane sooner.

Also, aisle seat please - I can get in and out more easily so can go for a walk around or to the washroom more easily, not having to disturb other passengers :)

I always try to get an aisle seat. I take frequent bathroom breaks and I don't want to climb over other passengers in order to get to the bathroom, especially if it's an overnight/international flight and they're sleeping.

If I can afford it, sometimes I'll opt for the exit row for the extra legroom and the fact that kids can't sit there. If I'm flying United, I pick Premium economy seats since I have Premier Silver status.

Nearest to the front I can get when picking my seat assignment and an aisle. It is far easier to exit the plane once we land if you are on an aisle nearer the front and you will be able to exit much faster. Also helps you get on your way sooner if you are making connections with another flight. People who aren't frequent flyers don't seem to realize if they put their overhead items several rows BEHIND where they sit, they likely will have to wait until the plane is empty to retrieve their things. (That is also the reason to avoid Row 1 since anything you would normally put on the floor in front of you will have to be stored in a bin BEHIND where you are seated.) Typically, people will stand up to exit once the seat belt signs have been turned off. Sitting on an aisle seats lets you stand up to begin the process of exiting the plane. On a full airplane it can be several minutes for the entire plane to empty.

First Class . . . :rolleyes1

Seriously, I absolutely hate to fly, and only do it when there isn’t another reasonable way to get there. My last two flights were to the UK, and I flew VA Upper Class. It was worth the extra money to me (and I caught the tickets on sale, which helped). I very rarely fly domestically. I would rather take the time and drive than board a plane.

I don’t have a particular place to sit front to back, although I prefer aisle to window so I don’t feel trapped in my seat.

Last Row Window or row before if window is better positioned.

I don't mind being the last passenger to arrive at destination or the last off the plane.

Aisle definitely, I’d like to sit closer to the front, but our airport is a big United hub, and most of the time seats not in the back cost extra.

The emergency exit section - more leg room.
Once there I prefer the middle seat so I can talk to DD & DH easily

I like the window seat. My 6’1” DH likes the middle seat. The window seat has less room because of the curve of the plane and the aisle seat you have to be careful to keep your feet out of the aisle.

When I would fly with my father, he would say sitting by the wing was the safest place to be. I don't know if it's true but I believed everything my Dad told me. Now, I do seem to always gravitate in the same direction when choosing seats....and by the window.
