Now that you guys gave me great info on the grocery stores....I need to find some decent places to eat. Some meals will be at the cabin. I just can't bring myself to make ADR's at the World. I hate planning that far in advance. I was thinking we just might get in our car and try some other places. We don't plan on spending the whole day at the parks anyhow.

SO what are your fav's?

Do you like Tex Mex? We've eaten at Chevy's and enjoyed it, pretty good service, and the food was good too. It's not that far from FW, we go out the FW exit, turn left to go out the back way, turn right at the next red light. This takes you by PORS/FQ. Follow signs to go to DTD, go out the back exit and the restaurant is just right there. Much more convenient to go here than all the way to 192.

There might be some resort restaurants you can get into easier, especially if you plan to eat when the crowds are not (early lunch at 11:00 or late lunch at 2:00, etc).

Depends on what you want to spend. This restaurant is awesome. The Meats are "Melt-in-your-mouth" incredible. Reservations are recommended or you will wait a while but it is not cheap. Will run about $50.00 a head not including drinks. They are on International Drive. Here is their website:

ALso, the restaurant at Animal Kingdom Lodge is great also. I recommend you make a priority seating at this one also. Not cheap either though. Of course, nothing is cheap at Disney.

If you go out the main drive to Kissimee there quite a few of the standard resturants, with buffets, pizza, chinese, Cracker Barrel, ETC. There so many I can't remember all of them. It only take a few minutes to get there. If you turn left at FW entrance and go straight to 535 and turn right there a lot more, I-Hop and more. 535 runs into I 4. Threre are on those roads a lot of fast food also.

Our favorite is the Ale House at the NW corner of SR 535 & Winter Garden Vineland Rd (if you crossed over SR 535 the name changes to Palm Pkwy.)

The back way out of the Fort is to turn left at either of the exits out of the Fort on to Vista Blvd. Follow Vista Blvd until it dead end's at Winter Garden Vineland Rd. (about 2 miles-beware of speed bumps as you near Winter Garden Vineland Rd) & turn right. Follow Win/Gar Vineland Rd. approx 4 miles & make a U-Turn at SR 535. 1st driveway on the right.

Great menu including full meals (seafood, pasta, beef, pork & chicken), burgers, sandwiches, wings, daily specials @ great prices.

Colson39 will recommend their Zingers, and I'll agree to that! :thumbsup2

Oh YES to Texas de Brazil that Bigkahuna recommended. It is "otter" this world!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

A great Seafood buffet is Boston Seafood. Includes lobster. Around $25 each, on Route 192. At Downtown Disney, at the other end of the price range, is Earl of Sandwich, under ten bucks, and a sandwich is a meal for us! Afterwards go to Ghiradelhi Chocolate for their free sample.

It might sound silly, but my kids love to go to Checkers. Cheap, fast, and easy.

You guys are making me hungry. I will print off all the suggestions. Prices is not as big of a deal as somewhere that my 4 year old wont be out of place...

Anyone like Pebbles?

We like ANGEL'S at the Holiday Inn on 192. It is an all you can eat and if you get there I believe before 6 it is 19.99 a person plus your drink. They have all you can eat Lobster, Crab legs and a bunch of other stuff. I can never remember which way to go on 192, I just know it is NOT towards Old Town..:)

You would go West on Hwy 192!! :thumbsup2 It is no longer a Holiday Inn, however, and the restaurant is no longer Angels. I can't remember the new name, but they still claim to have a seafood buffet.

For whatever reason my family likes Jungle Jim's. In the Crossroads. From a kid perspective its not too bad.

We haven't ate their since last year so we did not know that it had changed hands. That is good to know though.

Ditto on Chevy's. We love the place.:)

Last year we ate @ The Mining Co. ( I think) on Rt92 west of the main Disney entrance not a large place but family owned with good food, they also had a model train that you could run for a little bit of change. We liked it so much we ate there twice that week.

OK- I know you said "NOT WDW" but one of my all time favorite resturants is Disney owned....and I just wanted to share it ANYWAY!!!! I LOVE Cape May Cafe in the beach club hotel/ resort. Have you all ever been there? If you like clams then you HAVE TO GO THERE!!!!! They have ALL YOU CAN EAT steamed clams in the shells, steamed mussles and steamed shrimp. Plus a hundred other things.
I go to the Ale House all the time.(In fact I ate at my local Ale House last night) I love it. But when you pay 8.99 for 12 clams, you just dont feel satisfied! I don't even order clams anywhere else anymore. Cape May Cafe offers a terrific deal, and the food is awesome! We have sat there for hours just drinking coldies and eating clams. It is so much fun!

Ok, that my 2 cents. Sorry again it was off topic!! Lova ya all anyway!
