Do you buy your autograph books before you get to Disney or do you buy them there? Some have told me "you need to buy them before you get there because they are so expensive there" I kinda like the idea of having a disney autograph book with some type of "disney" on it but this is our first family trip and I didn't know how much they cost there. What do you experts do? Also I was thinking of having some sheets of paper (3x5) for the characters to sign so I could put them on my scrapbook pages, will they be too much trouble to get my autographs & the kids getting theirs in their books?

If you can get to a Wal-Mart down there they have little Disney autograph books on a stand near the card section. I paid 1.97 each. They had about 4 or 5 different designs with the characters on the front.

I am pretty frugal (okay, downright cheap sometimes) but I thought the Disney ones were pretty reasonably priced. I think the blue ones were about $6 when we were there last. They've probably gone up some, but for getting my DD to warm up to the characters as Mastercard would say, they were priceless!

I'm leaving for WDW in 7 days and what I did was buy a package of plain white 4 x 6 index cards and a 4 x 6 photo album. I figure we could just pull out an index card for the characters to sign and then I'd put them together along with pictures I take in the photo album.

I hope it works. It sounds good in my head.

Does anyone know how many different autograph book designs they have? I would like to get a different one for each of my kids so I can tell them apart. Is there a good selection at the hotel gift shops (ASMo) as I would like to buy them the night before we go so we don't have to find them and stand in line once we get to the park.

There are three different kinds. We bought the gold ones with a spot for the photo on one side. This was our first trip and there is only one "first trip" so we wanted the official books. We FILLED them up this trip!!! So next time we will be more frugal but for the first time we wanted the official books. I think they are great. They are gold and come with a gold pen. I believe they were somewhere around $12-13 a piece. :sunny:

Oh and i worried that there might be different ones at different stores but they are all the same. The smaller ones that are just for autographs are less expensive.

Hi there, look on EBAY. Type in disney autograph books and a bunch of listings will come up. I just bought 4 different ones last month. This one lady had like 15 or more to choose from and I mailed her a check!! The best selection I have found and plenty of choices!!! I think they were like $4 each????? Good luck, Vanessa

My daughter and niece have been collecting autographs since they were 3. They are both seniors in high school and plan to bring their autograph books with them when they go for senior night. I bought them two journal type books years ago from Barnes and Noble the books are almost completely filled front and back of pages. They are a great suovenir and the girls still enjoy searching for the illusive character autograph they do not have.

I jsut got done making our autograph books. I made the fronts on the cmputer and they are personalized to each childs favorite character. I found clipart on used it on the front and was able to put their names along with the year. I then had a local printer cut me papr 41/4 by 61/2 for the insides. I took the covers to Staples and had them laminate them. Staples will bind them for about 1.00 each but we jsut used a binder that our friend had. We also put a section towards the back that had the childs name and then said like Maggies Passport to Epcot with a clipart of Mickey holding ballons that looked like flags from all of the different countries. I figure I will have those stamped in the different countries. Everything is together this way and it was very inexpensive. I made 5 autograph/passports for less than $20.00. It was alot of fun making them.

We buy them at the resort gift shop when we arrive.
It's just part of their sovenier money.

No matter what ever type of autograph book you use,
please remember to write on the inside:
Yout last name, resort where you are staying and dates of your vacation.
Also your home address and zip code (country if applicable - outside USA).

If the book is lost - it has a 95% chance of being returned or sent back to your home address. The 5% is the part of the book ending up in the garbage by mistake or ruined by rain, or ?.....

Yes - remember to put your name and other info in the book!

We write down the date and location of each autograph on the bottom or back of the page. You would be amazed how many Mickey's, Chip's, etc. you collect. It is nice to know which was "Chef Goofy" or "Cowgirl Minnie".

Also, remember your Jumbo/Fat pen, which is easier to use in costume, and results in clearer autographs (available at WDW, of course).
