Where do you find QS at Boardwalk?

It seems that there aren't any great quick service meals at the Boardwalk Inn. We have a pool day there and the menu provided looks, well...lame. So does the private dining menu. Ugh. My daughter will just want chicken nuggets, which I couldn't find. Clearly, I'm missing something. Help?

There is the Boardwalk Bakery where you can get some sandwiches and salads d fruit, drinks, bakery items. Outside the bakery there is also a kiosk/stand where you can get chicken fingers, burgers, fries and such.

It's not ideal but if you're already heading out to the Boardwalk, you could go to Hurricane Hanna's at the Yacht & Beach Club across the lake. They serve nuggets in a cute sand pail for kids. If your daughter would like pizza, the pizza window (also on the Boardwalk) is another option. I've seen families get a large pizza and bring that over to the pool. The pizza isn't the best but it serves its purpose if looking for something close that can be brought poolside.

Ok, I guess this will have to do. I'm used to better, healthier options at the resorts for lunch. I mean, nuggets aren't healthy but at least for myself I'm used to much better offerings. I'll deal. It's Disney. (when in Rome....lol)

If you want a healthier quick service option without leaving the BoardWalk, check out the BoardWalk Bakery. Their menu changes, but it currently includes:
Herb Grilled Chicken and Apple Mixed Greens - Dried Cranberries, Goat Cheese and Pomegranate Vinaigrette $11.99
Roasted Vegetable Sandwich - arugula, portobello mushroom, red onion, yellow squash, zucchini, and sweet bell pepper mayonnaise on ciabatta bread $9.99
As PP mentioned, the bakery is right near the BoardWalk to Go Kiosk, so you could pop in the bakery first and then head over to the Kiosk.

The pool bar at the clown pool has some healthier options including an herb-grilled chicken salad or a turkey club with a cucumber salad side. As a DVC resort, the general store, I'm forgetting the name (Screendoor?) will likely also have some premade salads, probably a cheese plate with grapes, and also single pieces of fruit (apples, bananas) etc. As mentioned above, the bakery also includes some healthier options.

If you're willing to make a walk around the lake, the Market at the Ale & Compass in the Yacht Club has some good choices. There's a quick serve in the Dolphin (Fuel) that also has several premade healthier choices as well.

Another option might be to consider a big breakfast that day and then just do snacks at the pool?

Actually, the pre-made food selection at the BoardWalk general store is not good. I assume it's because the BoardWalk Bakery is right near there.

On the other hand, the baked goods selection at the BoardWalk general store is sometimes better than the selection at the BoardWalk Bakery, which makes no sense to me. When I'm in a cupcake hunt, I always make sure to check both places. But now I'm getting off topic because OP did not ask about cupcakes.

Yep, the lack of quick service options as a minus for us too when we stayed at Boardwalk. And since we were on the dining plan, we could not even use the kiosk as it was excluded. I did walk to Beach Club & bring food back but that was a hot long treck for me as we went in August. (also, I was under-impressed with the quick service in the Beach club hotel, their flatbreads were awful) My kids did enjoy the pizza from the pizza window on the boardwalk.

We are staying at BWV. Our plan is to eat at the parks before we take our midday break which is usually our plan wherever we stay. I'm also planning on doing my first garden grocer order. Just for a few breakfast things (not much because DD says she needs Mickey waffles most days), a few snacks, water and some sandwich stuff for days we want to eat at the pool. The pool prices are crazy with a $3 fee plus 18% service charge (do you tip on top of that??). Other than that I see myself stopping in Epcot for some goodies from France if we feel like it. I'm sure this way will save us steps (no hiking all over the place for food), calories and lots of money!!!

Our first two nights are at POFQ before our week at BWV. I'm placing our order for GG for our BWV stay. So we will get our fill of Mickey waffles and food court food those days.

@mi*vida*loca If they are hitting you with a fee AND a service charge, I would assume that is the tip.

I like your idea of hitting the bakery in France for food and bringing it back to your room. I do this staying at the Swan, and I can tell you guys that they package the food nicely in boxes so it holds up during the walk and in your resort fridge.

I’ve read of people getting food in France the night before for breakfast the next morning. It’s on my list.

I’ll be there in May and have a breakfast planned for my nieces and nephews from Les Halles. I’m going to pick up a couple each of the bacon and cheese rolls, ham and cheese croissants, and frangipane. I can hardly wait. :)
