I know there are a ton of restaurants at Universal, but which ones are good and which ones should be avoided? I know the answer to this question at WDW, but I the last time I was at Universal, I was in high school. Any and all opinions would be appreciated. We'll be at Universal for three full days before we move over to WDW. Thanks:goodvibes

My recommendations are:

CityWalk: Margaritaville
IOA: Thunder Falls Terrace and Mythos
Studios: Finnegan's and Louie's

We have eaten at Margaritaville several times and we love it. I recommend going in evening because there is more entertainment. We went for lunch one time and it just wasn't the same. (They have stilit walkers, ballon artists and more at night.)

We always eat at Sal's Deli at Portofino Bay and Mythos in IOA.

My recommendations are:

CityWalk: Margaritaville
IOA: Thunder Falls Terrace and Mythos
Studios: Finnegan's and Louie's
This.

Adding to the "Good List":
IOA: Three Broomsticks, Blondie's (underrated and super tasty!)
USF: Richters
Citywalk: NBA City, Fusion Sushi, Bob Marley's

IOA--ALWAYS Mythos
Studios--Lombards Landing
City Walk--Latin Quarter
RPR--Tchoup Chop and Islands

IOA: Mythos
USF: Lombard's Landing
Citywalk: Latin Quarter, Hard Rock Cafe
RPR: Orchid Court Sushi, Islands Dining Room, Emeril's Tchoup Chop
HRH: The Kitchen
PBH: Mama Della's

Mythos seems popular! So what does everyone order there? I looked at the menu and everything sounds really good...and reasonable prices too, especially for a theme park!

Citywalk- Margarittaville. I agree that you should eat there for dinner. Although, it can be quite loud with the live music, but it's very entertaining.

IOA- Three Broomsticks

I ate at Mythos and it was OK. Almost everyone here raves about it and I guess my expectations were too high. The service and the atmosphere were great- no complaints there, but the food was 'eh- nothing to rave about. Well, except the chocolate shake- that was really good. So I'm also wondering what did you all order to rave so much about Mythos. :confused3 I ordered the fish tacos, dh ordered the panini, and the kids had cheese pizza. The kids love cheese pizza, but at Mythos they didn't even eat half.

The buffalo bbq chicken wraps are very good and sometimes they have a mushroom brioche on the appetizer menu which is to die for!!!

They do change their menu items from time to time, so sadly some of the dishes aren't always there. I also recall a Balsalmic Chicken that everyone raved about.

I wish I could still have their pork plantain nachos...weird combination but oh so good.

So to answer the question, I go to Mythos every trip to IOA :thumbsup2

I always get the Risotto of the Day or the pasta of the day which on the menu is called Pastabilities, depending on which one sounds even better.

The Flatbread of the day is usually a must-have too. The mushroom brioche, as mentioned, is one of the best appetizers if available, followed by the Tempura Shrimp Sushi. If not, a cup of their light and frothy mushroom soup is a must!

Oh and that bread and butter. And for dessert, the flourless chocolate and banana gooey cake.

Okay, I'll stop. And this is me AFTER LUNCH.

I am really interested in eating at Mythos. Can anybody point me to where I can find a menu and also would you recommend calling far in advance for a reservation since it seems to be so popular?

We went last June to Universal for four days. Here are the restaurants we tried:

Thunder Falls in Jurassic Park area (IOA)--very good, would eat there again.

Islands in Royal Pacific Resort. We ate here 3 times.

Jake's American Bar in Royal Pacific. This one was ok.

Mythos (IOA) was very good.

Croissant Moon (IOA) is a great little sandwich shop with delicious desserts.

Whopper Bar at citywalk was kinda fun.

oooh--at Mythos the warm gooey chocolate and banana cake topped with peanut butter ice cream is to die for!!!
I also love their pork dishes and any seafood I've had there has been outstanding. Still remember the corvina!

I agree with these choices, plus we also enjoy Islands Dining Room and Tchoup Tchop at the Royal Pacific.

I would reccomend ressies here the way the crowds have been.As soon as you enter IOA it is called Port of Entry at the end of that it will be a left towards The Hulk Or Right towards Suess Landing.Directly in front of ya will be a stand stating dining reservatoins.

I got a out of date menu. The menu really don't change much from what i've seen:
