I am looking for suggestions/opinions on where to have breakfast and dinner while in Universal. 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts, family of 6, ages 7 on up. I have read about each of the restaurants at CityWalk and some at the resorts but would really like to know people's opinion. Thanks.

My all time favorite is Mythos in Islands of Adventure. Also enjoy the Hard Rock Cafe and the Latin Quarter. We are not big breakfast eaters and usually just bring some sort of breakfast bar and then have lunch at one of the parks or City Walk. Had some great lunches at Lombard's Landing in Universal Studios.

We just got back this week. We ate at Mythos twice, excellent both times. Had a very good meal at Confisco's also. If you are looking for dinner be careful if you decide on Mythos they closed early when we were there and had to have lunch once and a very early dinner the second time. Margarittaville is a fun atmosphere for dinner and good food also.

At Portofino there is a wonderful restaurant called Mama Della's. I cant praise this place enough! We also had a terrific meal at Jakes in the Royal Pacific. As far as breakfast if you want a big full breakfast give any of the resorts a try. We had a quick breakfast almost daily at either bakery in IOA or Universal. They have fruit, muffins, croissants, cookies, doughnuts and good coffee. Pastamore at CityWalk also serves breakfast, looked good but we didnt try it. One morning we had breakfast at Cinnabon in CityWalk...yum!

Hi there...

We made our big meal of the day at lunch time (2pm-ish) and we kept going back to Margaritaville at City Walk...

I loved the menu selections and everything was so fresh and delcious.... my 9 year old enjoyed everything on the kids menu as well.

We also had a meal at Hard Rock - fajitas - which were great.

For breakfasts we would go to the little bakery right inside the gate of Universal... they had friult and breakfast sandwiches and Krispie Kreme donuts.. yum!

At IOA for breakfast we would go to Cinnabon...

In the evenings we would just snack on things around the park - fries, salads, maybe a burger or hot dog.

Once we ate at The Islands restaurant at the Royal Pacific and it was quite good - the most surprising thing was that half way through dinner Scooby & Shaggy came walking in and visited the tables and signed autographs... it was great - but I was not expecting it and did not have my camera.

Shaggy sat with us for a few minutes and my daughter offered him a french firy.. he helped himself to a few,, with ketchup and was so perfectly in character.

I also recomend the funnel cakes you get in the Amity Island area near the Jaws ride.

Happy eating
