Where do you draw the line?

When is comes to buying holiday gifts, where do you draw the line? Do you only buy for your immediate family? Extended family? Friends?
What do you do about relatives that visit from out of town or if you go to a holiday party-do you bring a gift?

I have finished purchasing gifts for dh and have a few left to buy for my boys. I have purchased gifts for my parents and inlaws, and niece visiting from out of town. We still need to buy for BIL. Through out the year I stock up on little gifts from places like B&BW for unexpected visitors or hostess gifts.

I am running out of room!!
