Where do you draw the line at being too cheap?

I am not about to separate 2-ply toilet paper into two rolls. The time invested isn't commensurate with the benefits! I buy TP from a local manufacturer that sells "seconds" - the rolls that weren't cut perfectly straight, or were squeezed out of shape during production. That's about as far as I will go to save $ on TP!

I will not lie about my kids' ages to save on admission to any entertainment venue! I demand truthfulness from my children - I can't set a conflicting example by telling bold faced lies!

I'm not going to hide my youngest child in the boot of the car, to save one admission to a drive-in movie! Yes, I know people who have done that! I think you'd have to be pretty crazy to shut your child in the car trunk to save a few bucks! Personally, I think it's worthy of a prison sentence for child endangerment. Wouldn't it be ultimately cheaper/safer to rent the movie???

I save old veg from meals,cut off carrots/onions etc in a freezer bag for soup stock....today I pulled it out and made some (awesome) chicken soup with it-when I strained the veggies out of the broth- dh started eating the veggies.....now i didn't stop him,but told him that unless our income stops completely,we won't be eating thrice boiled veggies for dinner!
I strain,and add fresh veg. for actual eating,but man,that (almost) free pot of soup sure tastes good!
