Where do you dine the first night?

We are doing Hoop Dee Doo this year on our first night.:dance3: Kids haven't been there for a few years and it has always been a fun time for us. We are arriving too late to hit a park- just settle in, swim, head to HDD and then get to bed early for rope drop!:yay::yay:

For us its always something different. Different as in we don't have a routine for the first night, not always a new/different place. We make our dining plans for the first day based on when we arrive (morning/afternoon/evening), where we are staying, what else we are doing and what park we are going to hit that day.

For example, in just a couple of weeks we are going to be at WDW for the Food & Wine festival. We will arrive late morning and no doubt that evening we will "dine" at the various festival kiosks. By comparison, in September we also arrived in late morning, but that night we dined at the Top of the World lounge on just bar food since we had eaten at Teppan Edo for lunch.

:) This will be Mama and Daddy's (68 and 74) first DVC stay. She loves Coral Reef so we are headed there our first night. We will check in and see how big the crowd gets. It is F&W, a Friday Night, MK has a MNSSHP and DHS and AK close at 5 and 7--so everyone will be there after 7. EPCOT is open til 10p.m. Partayyyyy! The more the merrier, eh?

Our ADR is for 5:40--I have been trying for the last 4 months to have it be a little later--ain't happenin'--so we will have a fun dinner anyway.

ToddyLu- looks like we will be arriving on the same day!
I hope your parents LOVE DVC

For us it all depends on where we are staying. If it is at a new resort for us, we eat at what ever the best restaurant is at there. This gives us a chance to relax and explore the resort before hitting the parks the next morning.
Saratoga Springs - we ate at the Turf Club
BC/YC - we eat at the Yachtsman
Contemporary/BLT - the Wave (we save California Grill for our last night)
Polynesian - Kona
GF - Citricos

That's our plan!

We always eat at whatever resort we are staying at the first night. This year it is Animal Kingdom so we are going to BOMA. Can't wait - only 47 days!!!!!

As far as I'm concerned, vacation hasn't officially begun until I'm at the Magic Kingdom. Since that's always the first park we visit, we usually have dinner somewhere on the Monorail loop the first night. Last trip it was California Grill. This year it will be Citricos.

We are doing Kona at Poly and then going back to relax and check out CBR. It's our first time there and at a MOD. We have all our TS meals booked and CRT is gobbling up two of them. Darn I wish free dining was the week we are going!
