what's your fav spot for plain ole 4x6???

If they're on film and important, they go to a photography shop the next town over. If they're just every day snaps they go to Walgreens (my local one seems to do a nice job of it.) Important on digital ones I split between printing myself and sending to the photography shop.

upload and pick up..very easy and affordable at .17 a print. Quality is good enough for my family photo album.

for my really important stuff,,mpix.com

for other stuff I order direct from my fotki site...9 cents a print..

This is exactly what I do for our family prints.
Cant beat $2.99 for a 12x18 or $1.50 for an 8x10.

do they use dye-sub, laser-based, inkjet, or photochemical? What kind of paper do they use? $4 for 12"x18" sounds too good to be true (it's $40 in Canada using fingerprint-proof, scanner-proof Fuji matte photopaper using photochemical print.)

This new paper is gorgeous, no need for watermarking my proofs, anything printed on that paper can't be scanned properly (it'll look like the picture is composed of dots).

i generally use Icon Imaging in St. Leonards when i'm doing enlargements, canvas, and some of my bulk work. for the majority of my bulk work, i use digital city, which prints for $.15 AUD quite often (i just printed 1173 prints yesterday from an under 6 gala day). for many events i print onsite, with a bank of Canon Selphy CP-330s and CP-510 dye sub printers. i buy my media in singapore so the cost per print is about $.27 AUD it takes about 1 minute per print so we use several printers to eliminate long queues and also they overheat and shut down for about 20 seconds every 4 or 5 prints)

Shutterfly for digital 4x6, Walgreens for prints.

$3.25(after taxes).
Fuji Crystal archive(something like that) paper
Noritsu minilab at most, but have heard of some having Fuji Frontiers
Matte or Glossy available(your choice).

I do all of mine online through Kodakgallery.com--the colors in the photos are amazing and they are just so crisp and clear.
