Where do you buy your furniture??

Ours is closing to it is a Bankruptcy sale they are supposedly having and let me tell you there is no sale prices.It is Ridiculously priced for sure.They marked everything up to where they could say they will sale for cheaper and they are still over priced.

When we moved into our house over 4 years ago I bought a sofa & chair and a sectional sofa from Sofa Express. I liked that I could custom order my items by choosing a style of furniture and the fabric. The price was good, the salesperson was great and the delivery was as promised.

Last year I tried to buy a bedroom set from them but ended up not buying. They tried to deliver it the first time and things were broken and parts were missing. I gave them a second chance and things were broken again! So, I told them to cancel the sale. Funny, they are now known as "Sofa Express & More"....my DSis says the "& More" stands for "& More Hassle".

The store by us is closing by the way. I wonder if they are just closing some stores or are they out of business?

We've bought most of our pieces at Jordan's furniture (Mass) and have been very happy. I honestly think with Bob's or any of those type stores, you are not getting quality.

I purchased my daughter's bedroom set at Jordan's 8 years ago and it still looks new. That was after buying one at Bob's that they tried to deliver which was cracked and broken in pieces.

Last April I went back to Jordan's bought a 2 piece sectional for my living room that I ended up gettting it for just sales tax and delivery charge with the Red Sox winning the World Series promotion.

At the same time my friend bought a living room set at Bob's within a month the fabric was ripping down the middle of the sofa. Bob's sent out a repair man who came to fix it with duct tape and a staple gun.

Most of our furniture is second hand. We have a very nice, but hideous, sofa that was a hand me down. It's about 20 years old but has nice lines and is comfy. It has a slip cover on it (which I should replace). I'd look second hand first. It's amazing what you can find. Ugly is easily fixed in most cases!
