Where do you buy your Disney Dollars?

Hi!

Where do you guys buy Disney dollars? Is there anywhere in the UK? I know they aren't necessary... But it's a good way for the kids to save up and not spend their money on anything else. I can also convert birthday/christmas money so it doesnt get wasted

Sorry to tell you this but for the most part Disney Dollars have been discontinued.

I believe there is a limited edition $1 for the latest Pirates movie but I think there's only one or two places in WDW you can get them (CR at DTD is one I think).

Not heard anything about this
We bought some in August no problem 1x $10, 2x$5 and 1x$1, just went into City hall as we always have, they were regular ones, the new Pirate $1 has only just been released for a limited time.
Would be suprised if they do end them, they make a mint out of them, so many people buy them to keep/frame.

Anyone else heard they are ending?

I thought it was common knowledge that Disney were discontinuing Disney Dollars in favour of Disney Gift cards.

There are several sites out there that have this info but I don't want to link to them here.

As to why you can still get them in the parks as other people have said, I honestly don't know.

Maybe they're using up what's left of the stock, or maybe they've decided to keep them running after all and that info hasn't reached the community.

I had read somewhere that they were being discontinued as well. This was apparently due to the fact that they are very easy to counterfeit. Will have to try and find where I read it.

Searching the web for news.........threads going back as far as 2004 are stating the end?
I reckon Disney would make a personal announcement - to allow people time to spend them if they wished.

Not sure they'd need to as I think they are still accepting them in the parks, just not printing new ones for sale. At least that's how I interpreted it.

we got ours from reception at POFQ when there in August no problems at all, special envelope as well
