Most of ours have been booked thru a www.dreamsunlimited.com TA. I think the only exception to using a TA was our first cruise (when we had 2 daughters that were cast members at WDW) and a DVC member cruise. The last booking we did was for 5 staterooms booked on gold/platinum pre-opening day and opening day for a family cruise next summer. I'm glad the TA was the one spending time on the phone instead of me.
I've done 2 with Disney using the website, 2 with Dreams Unlimited and a friend of ours just became a Disney travel agent so our latest one I did with her.
mouseunlimited.com, direct, costcotravel.com. Costco is my fave b/c of the cash card. (and since I'm now booking just Royal, I like Costco's OBC for that line)
If you want to change rooms you can call DCL directly (otherwise you call your TA and they contact DCL), which can be good if you're someone who lvoes to change rooms or if you know you'll be looking to change rooms (perhaps for a concierge room). When it comes time to pay you call them directly or you go through the DCL site. Otherwise you call your TA or go through their link to pay it off.
That's the main thing. To be able to call THEM when making changes that involve money.
Otherwise you'll be able to do online check, make your Palo etc reservations, do Port Adventures, call to get CPAP cord and distilled water provided (it's free), etc, just as you would booking directly vs with a TA.
But those things that involve money before the cruise, those require calling the TA, and that can irritate some. (or caused a perceived irritation on the part of the TA, which bothers some people more than others)
Our first Magic cruise in 2003 was through Expedia. We had no issues, even "way back then". Had a couple of nice surprises waiting for us in the room too.
The others we've taken have all been booked at DCL. I like total control. Although... if I found a really, really good deal somewhere else, who knows.

As a larger than life dude, this is of interest to me as I use a CPAP machine currently (working on losing the weight so maybe I won't have to). Anyway, it's awesome that they'll provide the distilled water but I'm curious about the cord. Is that an extension for the power cord?
