Where do the buses drop you off?

We are staying at POR in January.

When the buses take us to the parks...where exactly are we dropped off at each park?

At MK are we dropped off at the ticket center? Then do we take the boat to the park? Or what?

What about the other parks?

I haven't been to WDW since I was 14. I don't really remember how it used to be and I'm sure it's different now anyway.

All of the resort buses take you basically to the park entrance area. At the MK, you are not dropped at the TTC, but at a bus area near where the ferry drops people coming from the TTC to the MK (between the MK entrance and the CR, essentially).

The resort buses take you to the front of each park, even for the MK. You still have a bit of a walk to the turnstiles but you are at the park.

Take your resort bus to EPCOT, then take the monorail to the TTC. You can either take the monorail or the ferry to the MK.

This will take time only worth it if your trip is long enough.

It does not take much time, my husband and I took the ferry one day during our trip just for the fun of it. I think we only had to wait about 10 minutes for the ferry and I honestly do not remember how long the ferry ride was, but it could not have been more than 20 minutes.
We were staying at the Poly and walked over to the TTC and then got the ferry over to the MK...it really brought back a lot of memories for me too. When my children were younger we stayed outside WDW so we parked at the TTC and always took the ferry. You kind of miss some of those things when you stay inside.

Just take the bus to MK and then take the monorail to the TTC and then you can take the ferry back to MK.

Again this will take some time but this way you get the best of both worlds and it most likely won't take as much time as going to Epcot and then doing the monorail/ferry thing.

If you'll be there several days anyway and have a park hopper, you can make it part of your regular day. On a day you go to Epcot, take the monorail to the TTC and then take the ferry to MK. Spend the rest of your day at MK.

Oh, and on the monorail ride from Epcot to MK, ask a CM if you can sit in the front with the driver. You might have to wait an extra car, but it you've never done this, it is worth the wait. 4 people can ride with the driver.

After you get off the bus at Magic Kingdom, you will pass by the dock for the big ferry boat that goes across the lagoon. You can immediately (or come out of MK during the middle of the day) go for a joyride on it.

If there is not a huge crowd (more than 600 people) at the other end of the line, you can get back on the same boat and be back where you started in about half an hour.

I might try that with the monorail. I've only ridden up front on the monorail at Disneyland and it doesn't really go very far.
