We just got back from our disney vacation a few hours ago and DH says to me
"what do you think about camping on our next trip to WDW"

Now I'll be honest here I have never once even thought about it but hey I love to camp and I love Disney so should go hand in hand right??

so tell me the good and the bad
I normally tent when I camp but he wants to look into renting an RV

My parents want to come with us next trip and while mom loves camping she is concerned about creepy crawly bug things in Fla

so give a me a direction to start
your best tip
really at this point I am just starting to read threads and trying to get some ideas

oh and we are thinking early in 2010
can camping be enjoyable in Feb or March??

I'm gonna beat Phyllis to this one. If you want to go in a nice camper and not have to do anything but bring your food go to www.campatthefort.com

Tina rents her camper for a great price and sets it up and tears it down included in her price. Welcome to the boards by the way.

Ha! I can't believe you! I WAS going to post about Tina and you beat me to it. Well, I'm glad to see there are others keeping her in mind.:thumbsup2

Seriously..her 5th wheel is set up nicely for a good sized family, and we're looking forward to using it later this summer. Nothing to bring but yourselves..which with the national chains you will have to supply your own bedding and linens. With Tina everything you need is included.;)

As far as the bugs....we camped during our last visit and didn't have one bug inside our motorhome. Our friends on the other hand stayed at Disney's CBR and had lots of nasty bug problems :scared1:

I think once you stay at FW it will be hard to go back to any other resort !!

I agree, we haven't gone back to a hotel yet!;)

Feb and Mar is a great time to camp.

Just stay away from Presidents week and spring breaks which will bring bigger crowds. I've both tented and stayed in my pop-up and have very little problem with bugs, just a few mosquitos every now and then.

Oh, and welcome to the camping board, we need more visitors here. What board do you normaly moderate?
I think you'll love this crowd on the camping board.

Feb and March are GREAT times to camp at the Fort. You'll have mild weather, although there is a chance of really cold weather and/or hot weather later in March.

Welcome to our messy little campsite Kayla. Im thinking we'll be seeing you around ALOT in the future. You may see some posts that shock you at first here, but you'll come to appreciate the off-the-cuff humor these guys toss around.

Kayla,

Even though you're a Sox fan I welcome you to this corner of the Dis as well {go Yanks! :cheer2: }. I agree with renting Tina's 5er as well. It is by far the most cost effective option and it saves you from having to drive an RV from Upstate NY, unless you're into that type of fun. By the by, what do Michael Landon and Tommy Lee have in common?
