Where do I have a shot at doing some last minute walk ups

we just decided to go yesterday, and will be there this Friday 6-12. Obviously, there are no ADR's to be had.

We were trying to do something different for vacation and were going to gulf Shores AL. Well the oil finally decided to come ashore this week, so we switch to old faithful Disney.

Which restaurants will I have good luck with a family of 4 just walking up for service and what time.

Early or late meals will give you the best shot.

Some restaurants that seem to be walk-up friendly:

Marrakesh in Epcot
Tokyo Dining in Epcot
Captain's Grille at Yacht Club
The Wave at the Contemporary

I'm sure there are more, these are ones I have had luck with....

I'd still try for ADRs, lots of cancellations at the last minute, even on that day. At least you won't trek to a resort and find nothing open.

The park TS are usually out, but in Epcot you could try Nine Dragons, Biergarten, Marrakesh, or Tokyo Dining (the sushi/tempura place, not the Teppanyaki). Maybe the Plaza in MK.

Resorts near the parks often have openings too. The Wave at Contemporary and Grand Floridian Cafe near MK. Kouzzina (Boardwalk) or Captain's Grille (Yacht Club) nearest to Epcot or HS. Maya Grill at Coronado Springs Resort is nice too and tends to get overlooked. Raglan Road at DTD is good and often takes walk ups or late ADRs unless it's a crowded weekend night.

I wouldn't go all the way to a resort or to another park for a walk up, but try making same day ADRs in the morning so you'll know where to head to. Keep checking during the day for openings. Last time I checked at Town Hall in MK they told me they cannot make ADRs with 2 hours of your seating time.

Check with guest relation they will tell you whats available and the times that are available. They will also make your ADR's.

In December 2008 on the same day myself and 3 of my friends from Orlando were able to get lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom without an ADR and only waited 5 minutes to be seated. Then later that day at Hollywood Studios we all went for dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe without an ADR, however like earlier in that day we got to eat there and once again only waited 5 minutes to be seated.

Definately try daily with guest relations.

Some restaurants I've had luck with are:

Rose and Crown Pub
Crystal Palace
LTT
The Plaza
50's Prime Time Cafe
San Angel Inn
Kona Cafe

Now, we tend to eat during the "off hours" so I'm talking about 4:30 - 5:00 walk ups for dinner and lunch anywhere from 11:30 on to noon. I can't speak for later than that. You're still going in June early enough where the summer crowds aren't in full swing so hopefully you'll find something. But again; check each morning with guest relations and when you get into the parks!

There are a few restaurants that don't take reservations (or only take them directly and not through Disney) which are: Beaches & Cream, ESPN Club and Big River Grill (there may be a couple at DTD like Bongos or Portobello but those are not on the dining plan - I can't figure out the first post which looks like you will only be at WDW for one or two days (Friday is 6/11, Saturday is 6/12) so I doubt the dining plan is in play but who knows)

Again if you are not on the dining plan you can try restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin (don't know the kids' ages but some of those may not be the greatest choices for little kids atmosphere-wise, but they all have readily available children's menus except Shula's and you can ask for one there)

Last year I saw walk-up being taken at Chefs the France, don't waste time trying Le Cellier

I would keep trying as people cancel when they are there. But it really depends on the crowd level. You can try resort dining like grand Floridian cafe or not as popular epcot ones. Lunch TS would be a lot easier with the exception of like le cellier and such or right when they open too. Good luck! I would try to make something though everything is booked?

Tutto Itallia was half empty the night we ate there in May. Food was very good. good luck.

The Plaza in Mk is a good choice. It's tucked out of the way at the end of Main Street so a lot of people miss it. They have great sandwiches and salads and excellent desserts:goodvibes

Tusker House (we always walk up for lunch)
Yak & Yeti
Boma (we've walked up twice)
Plaza Restaurant
Restaurant Marrakesh
Tutto Italia
Mama Melrose
Restaurants at resorts like Olivias, Maya Grill, Captains Grill, Boatwrights, Shutters

Another idea is for you to visit guest services when you enter the park for the day, they can check the system to see what's available for that evening & get you a last minute reservation.

On a fairly busy day last June, I personally witnessed a lady standing outside of Yak and Yeti right before they opened at 11 trying to find people to fill her spots on a clipboard. There's a place you might try if you're in AK one day.

I have always been able to get a table at Tony's for lunch with no more that a 20 minute wait (even during peak lunch times) without ADR's. My thought is that it is at the front of a park, so people coming into the park don't want to stop for lunch right when they get there, and people exiting at noon are trying to go to another park, or want to get back to their resort for a swim, nap, etc... and would not be inclined to stop for lunch. It gets alot of bad reviews, but I've always had good food and great service.

I think you should try for ADRs. We were there last July and were able to change some things around while we were there for the very next day. And there were 6 of us. Don't just assume...

We just left and were able to walk up and eat early(up to two hours earlier)at many signature rest. Definitly try to walk up you may be suprised. Earlier and later times would prob. be best. good luck and enjoy

We got walkups during free dining last year at the Plaza (11:30 am) and Kona Cafe (at 5pm.) On previous trips, we got Rose and Crown and Tony's too.

We didn't eat at the Kona Cafe but for free dining in 2007 just for fun we asked if there was any tables without an ADR and this was after 7:00 PM. We were told there was but it would have been a 90 minute wait, but the point is during free dining a table was still available.

Try to make an ADR for the days you want, I did a quick search on wdw site and there were lots of availabilities for Saturday between 4 and 6pm
