Kevin's review of Coral Reef had 2 benefits.

First, it will continue to keep me away CR!

Second, Pete mentioned a delicious lobster roll that he gets in Orlando. Now I must know where for my July trip.

Help, PETE!!!!:scared1:

It wasnt Pete, as he doesnt like to be in the same room with seafood.

It was me.

The restaurant is Boston's Fish House. Here is the address in case you want to GPS it.

Boston's Fish House
6860 Aloma Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792
(407) 678-2107

Please do not confuse this with Boston Lobster Feast. I'm not saying anything bad about BLF....but they are very, very different.

Boston's Fish House is on the opposite side of town from Disney. It's actually in Winter Park.

It is an extremely casual restaurant. You stand in line to place your order with the cashier, then you are given a table. If there are no tables, they stop the line until there is.

For being so casual...it's not inexpensive, but the value is there.

These are New England folks (the decor inside will tell you that and you better be willing to deal with the Red Soxs.) and the seafod reflects that. This is not Florida seafood. Iit's flown in many times a week from the coast of New England.

They also have an outside seating area and do take out.

We used to have a joke that Bob was comvinced that anywhere we went....Boston's was on his way home. He agreed to take people to the airport as it's fairly close to Boston's (besides being a great guy).

If you love fresh, simple, well prepared New England seafood. This place is IT.

Be prepared to WAIT. The line can be enormous.

One other thing.....they are open for lunch and dinner but close for 20 minutes every day at 3:30pm. They do this to clean, filter and refresh the oil in the fryers.

It's a drive from the Disney area....but it's a class act.

This sounds like a great place.

If you ever come to Maine, I will take you to a place near a lighthouse where you can eat your lobster roll at a picnic table watching the Atlantic Ocean surf crash on the rocky coast.

Snow is mostly melted and it will be opening soon.

I was born and raised in MA and I remember my mom taking us to maine and we would stop on the side of the road at the lobster stands and get 2 lobsters for like 6 bucks and eat them right at the picnic table. :hippie:

Sox (s) :rolleyes1

And of course, you can Google 'Boston's Fish House' and check out their very musical Web site... ;)

(When you click on the menus, it plays "Classical Gas", which probably just amuses me...)

First....

I HAVE A BAD EYE.

Second....

You should be very impressed that I even knew who the team was.:lmao:

Oh, sounds yummy. We moved to the Cape when I was in High School and we used to love when Seafood Sams would open every summer. It was so good, they had lobster rolls, scallop rolls, and lots of other goodies.

I may have to check it out in May, when I come down for the Cruise.

Oh good. Another place to try. The lobster roll at Celebration Town Tavern is pretty good but not as good as the ones in Boston or along the NE coast.

I  Boston's!!!! We go to the one in New Symrna Beach quite often!!

Thanks so much for the information, Kevin. I should have realized that Pete would never have recommended a lobster roll!

Have you tried Flipper's pizza in the crossroads Plaza, Kevin? If so, is it anything remotely like NJ pizza?

There are a couple of Flipper's Pizza around Orlando and while I have had their pizza...I have never had it from the Crossroads location.

Flipper's has usually been good....here comes the qualifier.....for Florida pizza.

You will not find anything remotely resembling NY / NJ pizza or bagels anywhere in Florida.

Now...before the indignant emails and posts start....I'm not budging on this. There are "ok" Florida pizzas and what passes for bagels....but it's not the same and NOTHING will convince the NY/ NJ / PA folks on the Podcast team that there is. So there.....:rotfl2:

P.S. And Carlos.....this doesnt mean I cant afford good pizza.

I am not Kevin but have had Flippers in Old Town. I still think NY pizza is better. The one on 535 changed its name though because of a law suit.
