Where do I get sillhouettes drawn? And how much are they?

I would love one of all 3 kids. Can you get multiple copies of each? (Good Mother's day gift for the Grandmas, I think)

Thanks!!!

8 days and counting!!!!!

I have a sillouette of my three boys when they were really young, 12, 10. and 6 and I love it. They did a silouette of each of the boys then layered them from biggest to smallest.
I am taking my three boys to FL again in May. Although they are now 27, 25 and 21, I want to get another silouette of the three of them.
I saw the "cutter" last at a small cart near the Hall of Presidents in MK. I am sure he/she is still in that area of MK.
I am not sure if they can cut multiples but they cut so fast that it wouldn't take them long to make another. I don't remember how much they charge, but it is WDW so bring lots of cash. Peggie

Is the hall of presidents on Main Street? I wanted to get one last year, but forgot about it. I remember reading that they were around $12. Is there a long wait for them? I think I'll definately get one this year of DS 5.

There is one near the Hall of Presidents. They charge $7 per person in the portrait and you get 2 copies that are mirror images of each other. We have done this several times with our daughters, and a couple of years ago even did one with all 7 of the grandchildren on my husband's side of the family.

If you have a non-park day planned, they also have a cart at DTD in front of RFC and Goofy's Candy shop. By the Marketplace entrance.

I had my boys done individually there. I think it is excellent and very classy looking! My tip would be to have the artist sign and date your silo. I wished I had him sign and date ours but will definitely remember next time. It is an original artwork.

They give you 3 copies of each silo you purchase and they are mirror images.

So you could pay for one silo and purchase 3 frames or to save even more money, frame them yourself. The black oval frames were I believe $8 each and the individual silo's were $8.95 at DTD.

Thanks for the tips. I may wait and do it in DTD so we don't waste park time. It's also a nice surprise that it's cheaper than I thought. Why do you get 3 copies of it though? That doesn't make much sense to me. Not that I'm complaining, it would be great for grandparents for mothers day and we are going jsut before then!

We had them done of GS 3 yrs ago. This year we are taking 2 GS's so will be having both done.

I believe Liferbabe had a typo. We have done this twice and you get two copies that are mirror images of each other for the base price, including one black plastic frame. Then you can choose to purchase a second frame or just frame it yourself. We were also pleased with the price which we considered to be cheap for disney.

We had it done of DD and DS and they are great. I just do not recall the price but it was not too bad. The man had a small cart in Liberty Square near Hall of Pres I think.

Hmm, maybe the DTD one does 3 copies? It seems that they are 8.95 and the Hall of Presidents one is $7 and does 2 copies? That's what it looks like. Can anyone confirm? If so, I'll do it at DTD, it won't waste precious park time (we onlyhave 1 park day) and I can give both MIL and my MOM one for Mothers day.

We have done it twice in DTD and they give us 3 copies for the base price of $16.80....I remember because for the price to get something for me, my mother and my MIL it was a deal. I had them layer my girls the younger in front and the older in back...I love how it looks and they are the only place I can find it layered like that. They also dated the bottem and put my girls names under each sillhouette. (Right now I am looking at the two that I had done one in 2002 and one 2004...they are just really nice...I highly recomend them....I have been thinking we might have them done ever trip since we normally go every other year.)

Thank you all! I actually need 4 copies, so I guess we will do the MK station twice.

I like the "layered" idea---this could start a tradition in souvenirs for us since this is DD's first trip.

:wizard:

This is my favorite EVER souvenir that I have bought ANYWHERE.

Two of these of my girls @ ages 2 and 5 framed and hung over my living room sofa make me happy every time I see them...

You won't regret it. :flower:

I am not 100% sure, but I think the one in DTD can add a 4th copy if you need it...it costs extra, but I vagly remember that they are able to do it.

These will become a tradition for us too. Here is a pic of a single silhouette. The silhouette was cut before the haircut that took the curls away. :( I also had my three boys cut at the same time, but I don't have a copy. I gave them to the grandparents for Christmas. It is cute too.

We had one done in December of dd. It really came out great! There is a cart along mainstreet on the right hand side, in the 1st alley way. For a frame with a single silhouette the cost was around $15. We did receive an additional copy which they put behind the 1st one in the frame.

Wow, they still do this! My mom got mine done back in lets see... I think I was in 7th grade so that would be 1977!! I will have to get this done again + my 2 girls! I still have mine, somewhere! ;)
