I will be stayin at WL for the first time in a about 30 days!!!!!!

And I was wondering, where do you get the mugs refilled?

Is it Roaring Forks?

And another question, is it self serve or do hand the mug over to someone who fills it?

My DH is is pretty picky about his coffee. So I am wondering if it is a self servie or pass the mug over the counter type thing...

Also with soda, my kids like to mix flavors... is the soda self serve as well?

Roaring Fork and yes you do it yourself . . .

The only time you'll have to ask register staff for help is when you need/want hot cocoa mix. They keep that under the register.

I'm not sure if Hot Chocolate is included in the mug program at WL any more. I noticed it had been removed from the sign (but you could still see the outline where it had been) touting the mugs that was outside Roaring Forks last month.

Thanks... DH likes to do his coffee differently, and doesn't like others touching it!

We're going in August so hot chocolate is a moot point anyway!

Cindy, have you checked out the New and Improved (if that's possible) WL FAQ thread? :D Lots of good info there about the Lodge!

That thread is too long and populated with bumps and smilies, and graphics.. I have a hard time loading it..

I wish that thread was more easier to read...

At the Roaring Fork you can also get tea bags from the cashier, with the refillable mug program. The coffee isn't the greatest (imho). If your DH is real picky about his coffee, you might take your own coffee and ask them to bring a coffee maker to your room.

actually, garym has a great point. when we were at wilderness lodge last, i called housekeeping and they brought me a coffee maker. it was great. we also bought the mugs. having the coffee maker in the room you can bring your own if you are used to a special brand. also, we didn't have to run down to roaring forks first thing. i was usually up before my dh and it was nice having coffee and sitting on the balcony. :D

Well, the way we drink coffee (the four cup little makers are just starters for us...) that wouldn't work to well..

He also doens't like Mr. Coffee type coffee makers. WE use a french press or perculator here at home, so that is what he is used to..commercial industrial coffee makers he is ok with.. as long as it has certain brewing..

As for picky, it isn't the flavor, but the fact that others touch it.. He has a certain way of doing cream.. that others can't replicate.

I thought the coffee was pretty good. I only drink it in the morning, so maybe it gets ripe after the day wears on. There is a cream dispenser next to the urn. HC is on the list as my DGD had it one night while we were there. 1st.week this month.

There are two soda fountains with just about every flavor known to man. They should be able to mix to their hearts content. There is also very good lemonaide.
