Custom brides, just wondering where everyone stayed for thier free night? When were you able to check in on the day of the wedding? I just don't know how there will be enough time to do it and move our stuff(overnight bags).

Also, did anyone stay and extra day and how did you reserve it so you didn't have to check out and check back in? We are staying the whole week at the Port Orleans French Quarter but the night of the wedding we are at the Boardwalk concierge level.

We've decided to stay at the Grand Floridian for our comp night. It's our favorite resort but dont get to stay there very often :)

We stayed at GF and were upgraded to a suite that overlooked the castle. It was the most amazing room and was the perfect ending to our magical day. :goodvibes You cannot avoid checking out and back in again unless you pay for the night you will not be staying at the POFQ. The Bell Captains can hold your baggage so you don't have to lug it to the Boardwalk for one night. We packed an overnight bag for our wedding night and left our luggage at bell services for our check-in at POFQ the next day. We didn't check in to the GF until after our DP. We didn't have time to deal with it before that.

We are going to stay in a tower concierge room at the Contemporary. We are staying for a week after our wedding, and moved our comp night to the last night of our stay so we wouldn't have to check in and out of rooms on our wedding day. It's going to be SO MUCH easier :thumbsup2

How exactly does that work? If you choose not to move hotels, do you still have to check out and check back in if you use your free night at the hotel you're already staying at? All I can think is if we still have to check out and check back in we're going somewhere else for the night! :rotfl2:

Yes, I think you do. It all depends on whether or not that is the end of your stay and whether or not you are already staying in the type of room you're given for your free night. For example, if you are in a garden wing room at the Contemporary and your free night is a tower room then you would have to check out and check back in.

We chose the GF, but we are already booked at the Polynesian-Concierge. I wonder if they would allow us to change our free night to the Polynesian (same room)?

We chose the GF. It is about the only way that we will get to stay there without cashing in a ton of DVC points.... :rotfl:
