Where did you hear about vmk from?

My wife, Cindrbellas, is a Disney fiend. I made a character a long time ago, but she was the only one who used it.

After a number of months, I decided to play a bit because she couldn't do the Tomorrowland Arcade games well. I got hooked to those, and started to venture more into VMK...that was May '06.

We laugh sometimes these days because in the beginning neither of us could see the point or need to furniture. Decorating a room seemed like an extreme waste of time...back then. lol

My friend told me about it about 2 years ago and she found it under a website, dressupgames.com. I've been playing it ever since hehe:rolleyes:

My family all has annual passes to Disneyland. Back in 2005 when we would go there were always these cardboard signs in some of the stores that said "buy a hat and get a virtual hat" and I thought it was some kind of joke, like "haha...yeah, a 'virtual' hat...niiiice." One day I finally made a comment to my mother about it and she was like "oh, I think it's actually for some sort of game they have or something." I shrugged and went along. During another trip I came upon the VMK kiosk in Tomorrowland pretty late into the evening. Prior to that we had never really passed by that way for some reason. Anyway, I asked them about what it was and they explained. This was in December, just before our APs went on blackout. I hadn't known about the Christmas quest beforehand (obviously) and since the Innoventions was closed, they told me I couldn't print one of them out. So I had no way of doing the Christmas quest, since by the time I could get back to the park it was going to be over. The VMK CMs were kind of rude about it that time too. Which I noticed very often they were either super, super nice or "eh...whatever...can I leave this kiosk already??"

Anyway, I think I was waiting for my brothers while they went on Space Mtn. or something, so I took the quests that were available to me and rushed around doing them and turned them in as quickly as I could. I got all my cards and then the next day I created an account from home. It was SO slow to load that I was only able to enter one of my codes before I gave up. I ended up forgetting about it for several months. I think until the next time I visited the park. Either way, it wasn't until March 2006. When I was there that time I created another account so I could get the Born in the Park badge. I still don't remember the information for the first account I made. I was able to use it much better than the first time. I was around for that St. Patrick's Day and was able to buy one of the shamrock pins, but didn't have enough credits to buy anything else yet. I had no idea that it would be gone so fast. Definitely learned after that.

I also ended up getting my friend Peacefully started on VMK. We'd known each other for yeeeears through a non-Disney online forum. She always wanted to go to Disneyland, so I thought it would be fun for her to play VMK at home. Since I could get the park exclusive stuff for all of my family members I would send her half of the cards. She ended up getting hooked too. And was actually MUCH better at trading than I am. :)

For me i was looking up some games to play aout 2 years ago i think and i saw some adds for toontown, Millsberry, and VMK. I knew what millsberry and toontown where but i did not know what VMK was i joined forgot about it for 6 Months...... then started playing again i still play today i oined Octoer or 05? it was like the 2 second month VMK was open or something

I sort of wanted to play it when I was like 7 when it just came out. But then it turned to that bag of brown sugar in the back of the pantry for a while, and the sugar never rotted. (<--- good metaphor, eh? eh?! :lmao:) I just HAD to get one when I was 10. I was hooked!! :rotfl:

I read about it in the newspaper, too. The article was written several months before the game even had its own website, so I forgot about it until about a week before beta ended.

I found out about VMK after going on the Expedition Everest website and saw an advert for it
