Where did you eat with young toddlers if you stayed in an Epcot resort?

We are headed to the BC in October and are wondering what some good restaurants in the area are for young toddlers for lunch/dinner. I'm mainly looking for TS restaurants on the Dining Plan. Our kids will both be 17 months on the trip.

So far, I can think of Cape May, Garden Grille, and Coral Reef. Any others?

Thanks!

Well, you already have all our favorites, but maybe I have another one for you. You may want to try Akershus for the character meal. It wouldn't be my favorite character meal, because Cape May is, but it is relatively close to BC.

Your family will love Cape May!! It is awesome. DD16 thinks this is the only place she can eat breakfast so we usually do it several times during the stay!!! Coral Reef is our favorite non-character meal. The food is great and it's so unusual to be eating "among" the fish!!!

For a great kid CS meal, you may want to try Hurricane Hannahs. DS17 and DD16 love chicken fingers so this one was really good for them too.

Have a great time!!

we did YC with our DD4 last November. For TS, we did Coral Reef (excellent), Mama Melrose (average), Cape May Cafe (dinner - good), Hollywood & Vine breakfast (early - DD4 loved it), and Yachtman's Steakhouse (two TS credits, but we thought it was worth it and we all enjoyed it...it was NOT too "stuffy" for our DD4 - in fact, it was quite casual but with excellent service and food).

I know you asked for the BC area, but figured I'd give you our full TS list from the last trip and let you know that we had no problems with our DD4 in any of them. We thought everything was excellent but Mama Melrose's - it wasn't bad, but nothing to bring us back again.

Of those listed above, Yachtman's Steakhouse, Cape May Cafe, and Coral Reef are all within walking distance from BC (Yachtman's and Cape May are obviously in the same complex).

I also recommend grabbing ice cream at Beaches & Cream. We grabbed it to go one night and watched the "higher" portion of Illuminations from our balcony as we enjoyed our ice cream!

Have a great trip!

I ate at lots of places, not just necessarily near my Epcot resort. Cape May Cafe was good, as was Garden Grill. We also ate at Liberty Tree Tavern, Chef Mickey's and Le Cellier when our DS was 15 months old. Oh yeah, Ohana, too. I like the buffets/family style places with the little ones because you get food (and lots of it ) FAST! That is key with the little ones!

You have so many choices when staying in the BC area.

For kid friendleness I would hop the boat over to The Studios to eat at the Sci-Fi.

Do NOT eat at Sci-fi with toddlers. It has the possiblity of being very scary.

We stay at the dolphin and take our little ones to any rest. including Blue Zoo.

But toddler friendly options would be Cape May, breakfast or dinner lots of choices. We like Prime Time at DS. At Epcot we do Coral Reef but probably won't this time as it is only entertaining for young ones if you are up close which is hard to come by. It is really pricey and just OK IMO. Toddlers won't be enjoy the fish even a few tables back. They LOVE the princesses at Norway. They also really liked ESPN go figure? Hot dogs and fries and sports on TV.

We have never had a problem with them in any rest. They really all cater to young children. But buffets have always worked the very best for us for the in and out factor. With the nap situation we didn't want to spend too much time eating.

My kids have always like Spoodles at the Boardwalk. (They may, in fact, like that its next door to a candy store, but they SAY they like Spoodles).

We stayed at the Beach Club last yeart with out two small kids... We liked:
1) Cape May for breakfast or dinner
2) Garden Grill for lunch
3) 50s Prime Time for lunch or dinner
4) Eating by the pool at Hurricane Hannahs counter-service for lunch or dinner (they have high chairs out there)
5) Captain's Grill (went by another name then) for breakfast or dinner
6) Coral Reef for dinner
7) America's counter-service for lunch or dinner

By the way....We brought our 14 month old to Sc-Fi and he was not scared at all... But we did need to get a "car table" because of the high chair....Most people like to go ther to sit in the car but you cannot put a high chair up to the car, so had to get the table...

I would not go to the Yachtsman with my kids...They are actually very well-behaved but I don't like the idea of feeling like they have to keep their voices down and working to keep them very quiet....I feel like the atmosphere is one that you should keep your kids quieter than some other "kid-friendly" places...There is not a lot of background noise to blend in with your noise...

Of course we went to other great places for the kids around the world but these are all near your resort.

Cape May for the character breakfast.

Flying Fish for dinner -- our favorite.

Rose & Crown for dinner.

The restaurant in Mexico for dinner -- watching the boats go by entertained our DD!

'Ohana for dinner.

Sci Fi is unpredictable with a toddler.

The kids menus at most of these restaurants are pretty much the same.
