Where did our avatars go?

For some reason, I haven't seen any avatars (the tiny pictures to the left of someone's post) recently - is this a problem (or change of policy) at the server end, or just a problem on my machine? And is it temporary or permanent?

The "Avatars" are unique creatures. They hibenate(sp) throught the winter and may or may not poke their heads out during the spring.

Seriously, we don't know if they will return or not. I really don't know what the official word will be yet. I guess we will have to wait and see.
