Where can't you use a disney gift card in the parks or DD?

I originally started buying gift cards as a way to save for a new Dooney bag, but now I have over $700 in gift cards that I can use for our trip! I feel Ike I should know the answer, but which places do not except gift cards as payment? Thanks!

Anywhere in the Parks and Resort Hotels that take credit card also take Disney Gift cards. There are a few exceptions like Pandora in DL and Ghiradelli in DCA as those not Disney Stores.

In DTD only Disney owned and managed stores accept the gift cards like World of Disney and a few others. Third party stores and vendors in DTD no not, although many do offer AP discounts.

For example you can use your Gift Cards at Starbucks in DL and DCA as those are managed by Disney. You can not however use it at the Starbucks in DTD as those are managed by Starbucks.

In Downtown Disney, you can only use Disney gift cards at Disney owned places. So Wunderground, World of Disney, Marcelines good to go; all the restaurants and non-Disney stores no. You can use the gift cards at the restaurants and gift shops in the three Disney resort hotels.

There are a few places within the parks that don't accept Disney gift cards. Ghirardelli is the first one that jumps to mind. The ones I'm not sure about are the crystal shops, pandora, and the perfumery. I don't know if those are all outside-owned which would be a factor.

We try to use Disney Giftcards exclusively when we are there. The Magic Shop does not, Ghiradelli does not and the games on the Pier do not accept Disney gift cards. Most churro carts, popcorn, etc DO accept but balloon vendors and light vendors walking before the parade DO NOT.

The only place in the parks we've not been allowed to use our GC (from Disney Visa) was at Ghiradelli since they are independently owned. They did give an AP discount though. I believe the Starbucks outside the park fall into that category too. However, the Starbucks in the park will take your Disney or Starbucks GC.

As mentioned, the Arribas Brothers shops in NOS and on Main Street do not accept Disney Gift Cards.

I don't think you can use gift cards for locker rentals either. The last time I looked at the kiosk, gift cards weren't listed on the accepted forms of payment.

It is Disney, but the company is not. They pay Disney to license Star Wars for their experience.
