Hi all,

So we are going to be at DL on the weekend the Candlelight Processional is on. As I understand it they used to have dining packages but they don't anymore.

So what I was wondering is if there is any restaurants that we could make reservations at where we could eat and watch it? I have read that it will be crazy busy and I hate crazy busy :lmao: but I really would like to watch the CP.

So does anyone know if any dining places have a decent view of where the CP will be held?

As a choir director my choirs have had the honor of participating in the Candlelight Processional. When I first did it (2002, 2003) they had Candlelight in the Fairytale theater across from Small World. They then moved it to the train station on Main Street, where I am pretty sure it's been since then (I haven't done it the last couple years as I moved to Northern CA). There aren't any dining areas surrounding the train station, the closest one I can think of would be Plaza Inn but you can't see the train station or Candelight from there. I believe the previous dining package you were referring to was some sort of D23 deal where they ate somewhere else in the park and then saw the show with reserved seats, not sitting and eating while watching the show.
It is very crowded for this event and a lot of people wanting to see it especially parents wanting to see their child perform. No offense to choir parents I love mine, but when it comes to a parent getting a view of their child performing they can be....pushy.

Then again I could be wrong as I haven't done it in a couple years so someone might need to correct me. Good luck! :)

Assuming it's in the same place as it has been, right near City Hall, there are no food places that overlook it.

The D23 package was available last year. It was rather expensive at around $250 which included park admission. I think it was worth the money and will attend again this year, although nothing has been announced.

Most of of the D23 event took place in an empty building in California Adventure, which included: buffet dinner, a show called "Minnie's Christmas Party", character photos, a panel discussion about the history of Candlelight.

Seating for Candlelight was excellent, I was seated 4 rows from the stage directly in front the narrator, Jon Voight :thumbsup2

any word on who the narrorator is this year? When we did it Tephen Collins was there one and Mickey Rooney another.

No, But I wish it were Johnny Depp, or John Stamos could come back. A girl can dream!

John Stamos are you serious!!! I got mickey Rooney and you guys got John Stamos? (We got to meet the narrorators backstage during rehearsal), and it wasn't John Stamos!!! :headache:

Disneyland is real slow at announce that celebrity narrator. The usually announce it only a week or two at most, before the event.

As for any reserved seating dinner packages, we just have to wait and see what Disney does this year, as it has changed over the last couple of years.

Traditionally, the Candlelight Procession goes down main street toward the Main Street Railroad Station. The choir uses the steps of the station and the surrounding area as the stage. Although, as the previous poster mentioned, for a couple years they tried doing it at the Fantasyland theater. That really never worked out, and it return to the Main Street Railroad Station, ever since.
