Where Can We Watch Football at the Contemporary?

Our family will be staying at the Contemporary the week of September 13th. We have planned to do a half day at HS on Saturday the 19th so that we can spend the afternoon watching college football. We are huge Georgia Bulldog fans and don't want to miss the game.
My question is, besides sitting in our rooms, where can we watch the game at the resort? Do they have TVs at the pool bar?

As another Dawg fan (and alumnus), GO DAWGS! We'll be there the same week but since it's for our anniversary I've told my wife I'll forego the game watching. Since you'll be at HS on Saturday, may I suggest you consider a late lunch at the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk area? I'm sure they'll have the game on!

The Ga. game is on CBS next week so not owned by Disney and probably not on at ESPN. I doubt you are going to get to see it. I live in Athens, so we eat drink sleep and live Bulldogs(literally I have to change my route home from work on home game weekends) and I just looked it up. It's a 3:30 game by the way so you might could listen to it on radio.

It is my understanding that the ESPN Club shows all major sporting events, and they will change the channel of the TV to a specific game if you ask. There are over 100 TV's in that place. I am pretty sure they have to show non ESPN media to cater to college/nfl requests. I'm pretty sure OP will be able to watch the game there if they wish.

Thanks for the information, I was needing to know as we well we will be there the week of the 13th also and we are Duck's fans and they are suppose to be on TV Thursday night and I know my husband wants to see it. We will have to try out ESPN.

I was hoping that "ESPN Club" Wasn't going to be the only answer to this question! I didn't even think about the football schedule, but last night we were discussing it and I checked and realized that a game is going on the night of our California Grill reservation. My brother is an alumni and will be wanting to watch his game, I'm sure. :-(

To be fair, it's a 21 point spread in UGA's favor so if it's any condolence, I would expect there will be no need to watch past the third quarter. Although, if we hadn't gone to Disney, my wife and I were going to take a trip to Nashville and take in the game - as much as I love UGA Football and my Dawgs, I'd rather go to Disney World than an away game.

Just a FYI but there may be a wait to get in to ESPN. We have gone a few times on football Saturdays and Sundays have had to wait to get in we aren't there before it opens.
That being said the pool bar at both POFQ and POR have 2 tvs and they have had CBS games on the a tv. I don't know about CR but I do know the pool bar at GF had tv since DH watched ESPN college football gameday last year waiting for me to get done at the spa on a Saturday morning .

There is a chance that the Wave bar at the Contemporary might have it on. I remember watching golf there and I think it was CBS.

I was about to post the same question, but for games in November. I don't recall if the Outer Rim had TVs there or not.

That's not true. They tune all games in if they're able to get it, regardless of the channel. Is it a regionally televised game or is it national? Regional college games I'm not certain if they'll be able to get. They get all the NFL games with the NFL Ticket, but is there a comparable college package? If they are able to show it, it's a fun atmosphere to watch the game in.

It's the SEC on CBS headline game - it will be nationally televised. There is a comparable college package (I think it's ESPN Gameplan), but shouldn't be needed for the UGA v. Vanderbilt Game.

If you're going to ESPN on a college football Saturday, wear a hat. There are lots of folks waiting a long time in the sun. The awnings only go so far.

Y'all should do like we do, plan our trips on off weeks ;) No bye week, no trip. Even Disney can't trump football.

If watching the game is important I'd go to my room. While it may be on in a bar, it may not be. And someone else may ask to change it. You will not have control over it.

I would not attempt ESPN Club unless you are there about an hour before they open. Otherwise, it's pretty impossible to get a seat since once folks go in, they tend to stay till a game is over. The turn over is not like a typical restaurant.

I don't know if the Big River Grille there has a lot of TVs or not. I know the original one here does so it may be an option.

I think I've also heard that Splitsville at DTD/Disney Springs has a lot of TVs too.

I believe OP is talking about the South Carolina @ Georgia game which is on ESPN so CBS shouldn't be a problem, which I don't think it would have been anyway.

3 Choices:

Sand Bar(Pool bar)--1 TV
The Outer Rim--1 TV
The Wave--2 TVs

I'm sure they will put your game on for you at any of the 3,unless someone has beaten you to the punch and has requested and is watching a different game.:)

Actually, Georgia @ Vanderbilt. South Carolina @ UGA is next weekend! And I'll be in the stadium yelling my head off.

OP is talking about the game on September 19th right? Which is South Carolina vs Georgia. But if they are talking about the Vanderbilt game then what you said above is right, don't think it will be a game worth watching...

Oops! Read that wrong! That game is on ESPN at 6:00PM so ESPN Club would be an even better option.
