Will be at the Grand Floridian for dinner at 7:35pm. All I could get last minute...so couldn't get it during wishes. However, is there another place close by that I could go and get a good view of wishes without going into the park?

The beach at the Polynesian resort right next door! I don't know if the construction over there has started or if it's impacting it at all! We've watched the fireworks from there a couple of times and I almost like it better!

You can also see the water pageant from there before Wishes!!

What restaurant and what time is Wishes? Narcoossee's and Citricos take around an hour and half to two hours. So you should be done w/ just a little waiting to see them. You could always walk around the hotel and check it out to kill time.

Also, there have been some reports that they are only letting resort guests of the Poly onto the beach, as it is a smaller area due to construction.

The 4th floor observation deck at the Contemporary is open to the public, only the one on the 15th requires a Cali Grill reservation.

I love the outside terrace on the opposite end of Chef Mickey (same level)at the Contemporary. Fantastic view of MK.

I also would just watch at the Grand Floridian after dinner, a wonderful nightcap.

We went with Citrico's. Thanks!

With the beach at the Poly nearly fully out-of-commission (at the moment) due to construction...

You can see them from TTC (they pipe-in the audio from
the show) but you are not allowed to stand in the
Ferry loading area.

You can see them from the boat-dock and an outside
observation deck near Narcoossee's restaurant at the
Grand Floridian. Anyone can stand on Narcoossee's Deck.
The outside deck is not a part of the actual restaurant. (All serving is done inside.)
The deck is accessed from the sidewalk outside the restaurant.
Also, good viewing from the Patio overlooking the Marina.
The sound of the show is piped into these areas too.

At the Contemporary, there is viewing on an outdoor
observation area on the 4th floor.
The California Grill observation areas are reserved for patrons that day of the Grill or Bar.

(Fireworks shown above are simulated.)

At Wilderness Lodge, the "secret place" to watch the MK fireworks is from the northern area of the Cast Member (CM) Parking Lot.

At the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds Marina (angle shown on the map below,) some of the view (especially of the "Fantasyland" pyro) is blocked by the now unused Discovery Island in Bay Lake and by the high-rise buildings of the Contemporary Resort.
But, the view from the Ft. Wilderness' sand beach (farther north) is more open.
Still the tree-level can block the views of the lower-firing pyro.

Here are the angles of the views in the Bay Lake area.

As for viewing from INSIDE the dining area of restaurants
(you usually need ADRs for most, and they are usually busy during the shows)...
you can see (and hear) them at California Grill at Contemporary,
'Ohana at Poly, Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian,
and (if you have access there) the Top of the World at Bay Lake Tower.

We watched from the observation deck of Bay Lake Towers last week. Just let the receptionist in the lobby there know that you would like to do this and they will give you a pass to take the special elevator to the area.

You generally have to be a DVC member staying on points to do this. If you are, it's a great place to watch from. Other than that, the boat dock or deck by Narcoossee's.

Thank you everyone! Special thanks to Robo and your fantastic maps. I checked dining and they had a reservation for Narcoossees at 7:55pm. So i switched it. Wishes is at 10 this week, so that gives us two hours for our meal then we can go to the boat dock to watch it. Will we be able to see the water pageant from there? We've never seen it in all our years going!
