My wife and I are taking our first trip to DL in September. She told me she wanted to see the (normal) Mickey this time. When we went to WDW a few years back we saw Sorcerer Mickey and Safari Mickey.

I've looked up Character Dining to see if we could find a "normal" Mickey, but haven't found one yet. The PCH grill breakfast has a Mickey dressed in a lifeguard costume. She said thats fine, but still wants to see the "normal" Mickey.

Any advice?

If you go to toontown and visit Mickey's house, he has a meet and greet there where he is dressed as "normal" as he gets. He isn't wearing the red shorts like in all of the cartoons etc. but he is wearing red pants and a black tuxedo jacket with a gold bow tie. Over in DCA he is wearing a tourist outfit - probably similar to the safari outfit you saw. Then for the parades and marching bands he has different outfits on. Good luck!!:goodvibes

I think he's in Toon Town... You can walk through his house and his "movie studio", and get to meet him at the end. At least, I think he's normal Mickey there... I haven't done that since 2008, so things might have changed.

Mickey's House is your best bet. But depending on which room you are sent into, you may get different Mickey's. Maybe mention it to the CM before entering, they may be able to direct you to the room you want.

Normal Mickey is most likely found at his house and like others said ask the CM before you go in as you may also get Sorcerer Mickey... (I think there are 4 different rooms but they won't admit it!!)

Also during non-holiday periods you will most likely find Normal Mickey in town square as well. During Halloween and Holiday times he is dressed up accordingly.

Yes, this is a trick they use and I thought there were just 2 rooms - but it could be 4.:confused3

First thing in the morning when the line is short Mickey is often out front of his house and the single line takes you up to greet him. After the line gets longer Mickey "goes inside" which allows the CMs to divert guests to different rooms and give the impression they are are seeing the same Mickey - since of course there is only one of them. ;)

Yep, Mickey's house is your best bet. He also appears in the Straw Hatters show at Town Square show and then sneaks away for a meet and greet afterwards, so if you ask at City Hall if the Straw Hatters are performing, then catch the show (it's cute) and they usually do photos after. It's tuxedo Mickey.

Hmmm, had no idea!!!I would love to see Sorcerer Mickey!:wizard:

Another option might be at the beginning of Main Street in the morning. I have seen him there, dressed in normal clothes. Otherwise yes, his house. But we've only gotten Sorcerer Mickey there ourselves.

I disagree with Toon Town as your best bet. Yes, he will be there, but he may not be in his regular Mickey clothes. We've met Sorcerer Mickey, Band Leader Mickey, and Tuxedo Mickey at his house in Toon Town. You're never sure which costume he will be in.

If you want "normal" Mickey, Main Street is the best choice. Unless it is a holiday period, Mickey is always (as far as I've seen) in his tuxedo on Main Street. You can ask CM's around Main Street when he will be out. He's usually there right after park opening and then scattered throughout the day.

We were there in early June. "Normal" Mickey was out in the Town Square area on Main Street every morning around park opening. Be aware if you are not an early riser, that I think he was gone by 10:00 a.m. (park opened at 8), and his line will close before that. Our last trip to DL, we found "normal" Mickey at his house in Toontown. This trip we were hoping for the same as we did not get in his line at the front of the park; however, we got sorcerer Mickey. I wouldn't count on getting "normal" Mickey in Toontown. We also saw an adorable sailor Mickey at CA. I had never seen him dressed in anything like that before at WDW.

This was very confusing when I was younger. I remember going in his house with my sister, but somehow we met different Mickeys. We compared our autograph books and just couldn't understand why they were slightly different.

You're going in September, but will you be there before Halloween Time kicks off (the 16th I think - off the top of my head)? If so, your best bet will be to find him in Town Square on Main Street. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale, and Donald a=will all be out there all day at various times. If you're there before the Halloween season begins they will be in their normal wear, but once it starts they will be in their Halloween costumes. But you can find them all day long usually. If he's not there but other characters are or you get there and they've already closed his line, just as the CM when he'll be back out and time it accordingly. Or you should be able to ask at City Hall. The problem with Mickey's House back in Toontown is that you never know which 'stage' you'll go into to see Mickey or which one you'll get.

At Mickey's House, in addition to the Band Concert, Sorcerer's Apprentice, and Tuxedo Mickeys others reported, I've seen Steamboat Willie Mickey. He looks a lot like "normal Mickey" but his clothes are black and white and gray. Not sure if that would be acceptable for your wife, but that is certainly "classic Mickey"! :rotfl: (He's actually my favorite, but I'm partial to old-timey things.) If both Steamboat Willie and Tuxedo Mickey would work, then that does up your chances of a favorable outcome at Mickey's House. Though I think I'd just try for Main Street if I were you.

Have a great trip!

Go to Mickey's house and ask the cast member at the theater door if Mickey is filming "through the looking glass" currently. Do this before they let you into the film vault. If he is not, kindly ask to wait until he is. Most CMs will know what you are asking and arrange that for you.

When we were at DL on June 19, we visited Mickey in his house in Toontown - he was Steamboat Willie - I was very surprised!!
