We currently have ADR's at 50's Prime Time. We like it there O-Kay but we don't love it and thought about trying something new. Any ideas on someplace close for dinner? We will leave the park for dinner and then return for the evening. I don't want to spend too much time riding on a stupid bus.

The closest things I can think of are Cape May, Yachtsman Steakhouse (2TS on DDP), Captain's Grill, or one of the restaurants on the Boardwalk.

If you are not on (or will not be using) a dining plan there are several very good restaurants, including buffets, at the Swolphin, which is less than a ten minute walk from DHS.

What about the Sci-Fi? No bus trip involved! The food is good (not the best on property, but good), and the atmosphere is great! It is one of the few must-do restaurants for us in the parks.

I agree that the Boardwalk is the best option. We love the area because there are a lot of restaurants to choose from and you can either walk or take a Friendship boat.

If you're looking for a relaxing table-service without having to make an ADR, try the Captains Grille. The new Cat Cora restaurant, Kouzzina, is nice. For fine dining you could try Flying Fish or Yachtsman Steakhouse.

For more casual, you could try Beaches & Cream but they usually have a long wait. Either the Swan or Dolphin has a similiar burger place but I can't remember the name right now.

If you have a park hopper and walk all the way to Beach Club, it's not much farther to take International Gateway and pick up some fish and chips at the UK Pavilion in Epcot.

There are so many great choices, I'm getting hungry just typing this!

We went to Captain's Grille for lunch on our DHS day. It was a nice boat ride away.

World Showcase at Epcot is not too far away either with fantastic choices.

I agree about the boardwalk area, it's convenient from hollywood studios. We've eaten at cape may for dinner and enjoyed it.

Do you specifically WANT to leave the park, or are you unaware of the other good food options in DHS, like Brown Derby, Sci-Fi, and Hollywood and Vine? Momma Melrose's and ABC Commissary are also available...

How long of a trip is the boat ride?

If I were to make an adr for something on the Boardwalk, will it take forever to exit the park, wait for a boat ride, take a boat ride, get to the restaurant?

We're having NO luck on getting an ADR for the day we were planning on being at DHS.

Last time we went to Disney (it was our first time) I was a bit overzealous with adr's and had us going to different parks and resorts for lunches and dinners and it completely stressed us out waiting for buses/monorails/exiting and re-entering the park, etc.

I would allow 40 min.safely. It is a 10-12 min boat ride once on board, sometimes like buses, u have to wait for it or get lucky and walk right on.
If u are early the Boardwalk area is great to check things out.
