Where can we dine with Minnie?

I had planned to have dinner at Chef Mickeys during our November trip so my 2 yr old dd could meet Mickey & Minnie (she loves Minnie mouse!) but i am now unsure after reading everyone complain about the food @ Chef Mickeys. What are my other options for character meals (Dinners) that include Minnie? Do you find any of the other Minnie options better than Chef Mickey?

Thank you!

Keep in mind that Hollywood and Vine is a buffet and similar in quality to Chef Mickey's. If you don't love buffets, I think breakfast at Chef Mickey's is the way to go because it's hard to go wrong with bacon, sausage and mickey waffles. Breakfast is also a cheaper meal for AYCTE than lunch or dinner would be, so you may want to factor that in as well.

Cape May Cafe is also a buffet but I can't comment on the food as we have never been, but I can't imagine the breakfast offerings would be markedly different than at Chef Mickey's.

CM and H&V are comparable in terms of food quality. In November it will be the seasonal dine at H&V, so the characters will be in their holiday attire. For that reason I would choose dinner at H&V.

Cape May probably serves the best food of the three. I equate Chef Mickeys with Golden Corral (about the same quality) but H&V is where good food goes to die. They do have fantastic character interaction and I really believe that is the only reason to go there. And I have gone there just for the morning characters.

We've done the Christmas themed dinner at Hollywood & Vine! Santa Goofy was great and our girls loved seeing all the characters in their Christmas outfits! Our extended family of 8 (ages 3 to 60) was very pleased with the selection and quality of food. I read quite a few bad reviews about it prior to our trip so wasn't quite sure what to expect...then I realized there are bad reviews about everything out there. That was also a trip of 8 park days for us, so we had quite a variety of dining reservations. The fam remembers it pretty fondly...maybe we were all just having such a good time! @KenHutch's strong statement has me second-guessing myself! :rotfl:

We love Minnie at Cape May Cafe.

Love her clothes, always good character interaction, fairly calm and enjoyable atmosphere and food was a good breakfast.

Cape May Cafe was one of the best meals of our trip this year - definitely added to our must do list !

I went to Cape May this past January. Food was really good, staff was attentive, and the character interaction was fantastic. It was Goofy, Donald and Minnie. They were all in their beach-going outfits. Minnie really liked it when I complimented her on her shoes. LOL

It also didn't seem as crazy as other character meals that I have been to.

Agree, Cape May is the best food of the three and the setting is the best. Chef Mickey is what it is, you see the characters, the food is ok, but to a 2 year old its probably great. My kids loved the food, Me not as much and it was chaos. Plus felt squished more and kind of crazy meeting the characters and I don't think we got them all. H&V is on my Never again list, (not for character reasons).

For some reason I have bookmrked that H&V seasonal has Minnie? I have written down it’s called Minnie’s Holiday Dine at H&V. This is the Christmas dinner...is that old info I wonder?

That poster was referring to Tusker House - no Minnie, yes Daisy.

Minnie and Daisy are both at lunch and dinner at H&V.

We thought the food was far superior at H&V than at Chef Mickeys, so this must either be one of those YMMV scenarios, or maybe the quality varies at each depending on when you go (as buffets often do). I think H&V has a slight edge as well because it is in the park so very convenient not to have to exit and re-enter the park (with all the attendant hassles of going through security) at mealtime. Plus, if you want to see Fantasmic, which we always do, you can book the Fantasmic package at H&V and get preferred center seating at the show.

Another question to the OP: are you on the dining plan? Chef Mickeys is more expensive than the H&V dine if paying out of pocket, but they are both one credit on the dining plan, so depending on how you are paying for your meals one might be the better "deal" than the other.

Keep in mind Cape May only has characters at breakfast. Dinner is not a character meal at Cape May. Depending on where you are staying and how you are planning on getting around WDW, it isn't the quickest place to get to in the morning, but it is, by far, IMO, the calmest character meal on property.

Of course, you could always do a M&G with Minnie someplace else and spend your money on a restaurant with better food.
