Arriving at LGB at 7:30 thinking I could make it over to the GCH in time for 9:30 fireworks. Hoping to grab a late dinner and watch them. Can we see them from DTD, the GCH, or do we have to be in DL? Wasn't planning on going into parks, although I see they will be open until midnight.

You can see them everywhere at DTD, but it isnt as magical as being in the park. DTD doesnt have any of the music playing in Disneyland. You should hide for the night and see it in Disneyland the next day!

If you want the best viewing, being at the front gate is a great location. like stand right in between the DCA gate and DLR gate.

:rotfl: I would love to try and hide in disneyland over night but I'd probably get caught then banned forever and then I would cry.

I'm sorry IdinCT I don't know how to answer your question because I've only ever seen the fireworks from inside the park or at the howard johnson hotel. But if you want to eat the Plaza Inn while the fireworks are happening I believe you can do that. But thats inside the park but you'll get the music and everything.

If you are staying at the GCH it may be closer for you to through the security area and sit in the middle between DL and DCA. You can get a good spot from there. We sat down by a pole and just watched. Or in DTD a good spot is by the ESPN Zone by the parking area for DTD. We sometimes catch it from there.

OMG, the fireworks are so loud in that parking structure. Kinda scary sounding. But, they do look great from there.
