Where can I get Crabs?

Just replying to all your posts is making my mouth water for some crabs now.

I admit it, I am here to confess am a crab lover. :worship:

I will eat all types of crab legs: Blue, dungeness, queen and ohhhh baby the king legs are my favorite. Not a king with crabs mind you but the Alaskan king crab legs from the ocean. :rolleyes1

Get your head out of the gutter!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Only complaint about eating crabs is the feeling I need a shower afterwards...messy little things, then there's all that butter & flying lemon seeds...rather dangerous.;)

We prefer fresh or carefully prepared frozen seafood & are very leery of eating it @ unknown resturants...you ain't been sick 'till you've eaten bad seafood. Always safe @ Red Lobster but, it's so generic.

Read that Fulton's posts their bill of lading for seafood each day in restaurant.

mmmm, king crab. we've got some stone crab claws in the fridge right now. that will be a late night snack tonight. :)

what's dungeness taste like? I see them all of the time but have never tried them.

We saw crabs for sale at a kiosk in the middle of the mall over Christmas. Told the wife they were free in the bathroom. :rotfl2:

Well the dungeness are really good. Sometimes when you get the regular snow crab they are real easy to break but not really meaty. And I like mine meaty. :lmao: But the dungeness are a harder shell crab and the meat is juicy. Not a good as the king but I will take them over regular snow crab anyday. And today any crab will do.

And the stone crab claws in the fridge is no fair. Can you spare some down here to poor old New Orleans. It kinda reminds me of Elaine on Seinfeld where she goes in the bathroom and there is no toliet paper in her stall and the woman next to her says she didnt have a square to spare. :rotfl2:

That is bad. But I like my crabs steamed with butter not fresh if you know what I mean.

I'll drive the knife into your back. I work with a girl and her husband owns a shrimp boat. she gave me 5 pounds of stone crab 'floaters' yesterday he brought home. they're tired of eating them this season. :)

Uh Oh I definately dont want to get crabs from there. :rolleyes1

Ok, I admit, I opened it for the title too (how did I miss it yesterday?) But now I don't feel so bad since I'm not the only one to open for the title. (I don't know how the tag fairy works, but I agree, this would be perfect." :p

Oh!!!! I am so jealous :hyper:

But it does sound like a recipe that I would like to have. :listen:

I even asked my husband to go catch some crabs in the gulf here in New Orleans. But he doesnt want to deal will taking care of the crabs. He is now giving me a hard time because he dont want no stinkin crabs. He has seen Navy videos warning him about this type of affliction. :rotfl2:

Can he tell that they have already gone to his wife's brain?

I'm afraid Orlando's rep. for awful seafood is pretty well-deserved. Chains everywhere, and almost no fresh catch. (It absolutely boggles the mind--I grew up in S. Louisiana, and bad seafood restaurants that were less than two hours from the coast just didn't stay in business.) If you don't mind the frozen stuff, there is a Joe's Crab Shack just up the road from the Crossroads shopping center, decently priced, though it is not AYCE.

If you want the good stuff at a reasonable price, I recommend a day trip to one of the coasts. There are a fair number of good local joints up and down the barrier island near St. Pete. Go with Blues and Stone Crabs; the larger species are not locally caught.

My college roommate got hers by "sharing a towel" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

Maybe that is why they give you paper towels to wipe your hands. So you dont spread the crabs around. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I did want to thank everyone for the responses. I have a few ideas for the trip with your help.
