I grew up in Maryland and love to eat crab. I now live in New Hampshire and although I enjoy an occasional lobster, I miss crab! I am looking for the restaurant that serves the best crab cake!:yay:

Stop in Maryland on the drive down :rotfl2: Most places in Florida serve Stone Crabs or Gulf Crabs. Not too many Chesapeake Bay Blue crabs, I don't know of a place. Stone crabs are good, but not like a Md crab cake.

I ate a wonderful crabcake at Flying Fish on Disney's Boardwalk. It was listed as an appetizer, but I had it as an entree, and still had leftovers.

No idea about New Hampshire.

But the most wonderful crab cake I ate was in Anthony's Pier 66 & Bell Street Diner in Seattle, their crabcakes--they are filled with fresh crab and hardly any filler--and their drinks are yummy, too. :wizard:

Thanks all for the input!!! PrincessdadX2...sorry but I don't need a crab cake that bad! Thanks for the laugh! I would be divorced by the time we got to South Carolina and my children would have their mouths duct taped by New York. Way too much family time!

MDterrapin, I think a MD friend told me about their crab cakes and that they ship well. Just a note, we went to the beach in Manie a few weeks ago and I am missing OCMD horribly....the water was FREEZING like OC in April :scared:

Best crab cakes, ever....
Just google - Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes & More

They come frozen. (I've had them at Anthony's in Seattle and various crab cakes around Disney. These were the best.)

I second Chesapeake Bay. QVC has a partnership with them and the prices from QVC are almost always cheaper than ordering them directly from the company. Just go to the QVC website. I have ordered them many times and they are delicious!

I think Bonefish Grill has the best crabcake of the 'chain' restaurants. Don't know if there is one of those near WDW or not....

Lots of crabmeat and very little filler....

I think crabcakes are the best thing about living in Maryland. Unfortunately, you become spoiled. I don't even like the ones in Virginia. G&M ships and I also think Phillips Seafood will ship. We are heading to Ocean City, so I know we will have many choices! Good luck.

I wouldn't go with Phillips, they aren't what they used to be. They have gotten too "Touristy". THey have gone into the packaged food business, and the crabcakes in the restaurant taste like the sad frozen little filler patties they sell boxed. I think Ocean Pride in Lutherville will ship. I hear G&M is good too.

DOn't try getting one in New England. They just don't understand. My mom always said, " Don't order crabs or oysters above the Mason Dixon line"
