Last night I discovered my 18 months old niece is obsessed with Bear In The Big Blue House! He scares me a bit, but that's a whole other story.

Apparently I have to get my photo taken with Bear, which will then be put up on my niece's bedroom wall. Eeeeek!

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing someone having their photo taken with Bear in his Big Blue House at Disney World somewhere? Where does that happen? Are there big long lines?

Also, is there lots of Bear In The Big Blue House merchandise around Disney, which I could find for her? At any specific place, or just scattered at different stores?

I asked if she liked Tinkerbell or Dumbo or anybody a bit cuter... but no. Bear In The Big Blue House it is. Eeeek!

Thanks everybody!! :cheer2:

I believe the Playhouse Disney show at DS has Bear in the Big Blue House in the show, but don't think he is available to take pictures with there.

Like the other posters said, he is at MGM in Playhouse Disney (very cute show for little ones), but did not see him doing pictures!

There is merchandise for sale right in front of the Playhouse Disney attraction, but did not see anything for sale anywhere else in the park! Have fun!

Oh dear, my niece might just have to do without the photo of me with Bear. Can't say I'm too sad about that!!! As I said, he creeps me out...

Thanks for the merchandise info, though! I'm sure I'll find something for her! :cool1:

You CAN get Bear's "autograph" though. Ask a CM at the exit to Playhouse Disney on Stage if it would be possible for them to bring an autograph book back to Bear for him to sign. They'll take the book, and come back a couple of minutes later, and Bear will have stamped it.

Not sure if that would be sufficient, but thought it might help. We saw TONS of Bear stuff at the gift shop right outside the show as well. And I can say the plush hold up VERY well, my daughter's Bear is about 6 years old now, lol.

Bear has never been a meet-or-greet character. If anyone ever has met him, it was a very freak occurrance! But he has never been regularly out meeting. Sorry he creeps you out - he's really nice, actually! :)

I would have never thought to ask a CM to see if Bear could sign an autograph. What a great idea!

BTW, do you think the Wiggles will be doing autographs after their shows??? :confused3 I doubt it, but what a great addition to the autograph book if they do!!!

We learned a long time ago, if there's ANY chance of you being able to do something, just ask. Most CM's will do everything they can to accomodate you within reason. Just remember, you definitely won't MEET bear, they'll walk away and come back with the book. I don't know if this would work with any of the other characters (Stanley, etc).

You could always do 'Playhouse Disney Live on Stage' show to get pictures of Bear. It may not be with you, but it is a good chance to get some pictures if you can stand being with the little ones. Personally, I agree with the other post, Bear is pretty cool

Thanks everybody, for your ideas!!

I'll go see Play House Disney if we have time... I'm a school teacher (I teach 5 year olds), so I'm sure I could handle the little ones for 20 minutes! :cheer2:

I might be able to take a good photo of him while he's on stage, and stick his autograph next to the photo in a little photo frame display.

As for finding Bear creepy, I've just never liked big puppets. When I was little, I used to be so scared of Barclay and Big Bird from Sesame Street... And Bear is just so big!! But I know, he's lovely really! :Pinkbounc

Thanks again, guys. :thumbsup2

Its quite possible that you CAN have a picture "with" Bear.

Go to the Photo store in MGM (right at the front entrance, next to the "Gas Station".)
They do those "process" photos that put YOU INTO other scenes using a computer. If they have any backgrounds with Bear, you can have one made for you.

There is also a bigger one of these photo creation labs at the exit of "Journey Into Your Inagination" at Epcot.

Bear was definitely a meet and greet character a few years back. I saw him several times a few years ago though he's not been there for some time. They even had a set of the Blue House to meet him by, it was in the front of the old Doug theatre. We were lucky enough to have photos with him. I also remember when the show first started that he would make an appearance at the end of the show. It sounds like they must have stopped this.

Wow~ Aweosme picture, thanks so much for sharing!!!

If you get a chance don't miss the MGM parade ~ great picture of Bear in his car & lots of others she may enjoy too!!! :wizard:

well i'm going to ruin some of the magic to engliten you as to why bear does not do regular meet and greets. you see bear is a puppet not a character.

in over for bear to see, he has two very small and not very clear fiber optic cameras in his eyes which attach to a small 5x5 lcd screen straped to the perforers chest. very difficult to see out of especialy in the bright sun. also kids tend to pull on his string that is attached to his real arm. that string allows him to look like his dead arm moves while his realy arm does.

i'm going to let you in on a little secret. Bear dose still do meet and greets, but i'm sorry you have to either know somebody who works at the show, or you either are or have a make a wish or give kids the world child.

there was one time when Noel the real bear was at studios and did meet and greets. he actualy talked and stuff. but this was only for a few day special engagment. but judging from this picture this is one of the studio bears, because noel brought his own.

Has anyone been to the new Playhouse Disney character breakfast? Does Bear make an appearance there perhaps?
