Hi,
Leaving for WDW in less than one week.
I realize it will be very warm during our stay. I have MS, and have read in the past that ice collers are available at the parks.
I did a search and cannot find the thread.
Has anyoone ever purchased one of these at WDW, and, if so, where?
I am not sure if the exact name is "ice collar", I have also seen them referred to as "aqua collar".
Thanks.

we were just at the world and I did not see any vendors selling anything like that. they have the fans with the waterbottle attached- $15 in the park, $6 at walmart.

You might want to try a walmart or sporting goods store before you leave. I have called different stores looking for someting specific, and if it is there, some will bring it up to the service desk (customer service) for you.

just an idea.

I got mine at WalMart, but I have seen them in cute Disney prints at the resort shops. I'd try to get a couple at WalMart, though, to be sure.

You might have to get one (or two) to bring with you. You should be able to get a refrigerator in your room to cool them down. They are in the rocess of installing them in all the deluxe and moderate rooms; however you might want to contact szpecial (medical) reservations at 407-939-7807 to be sure you get a refrigerator at no charge. If you have two, you might take the second to First Aid in the opark and ask them to store in in their refrigerator, and you can trade off on an as-needed basis.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.
I will try my local Walmart, but I am not too optimistic that they will have any. When we checked for the portable misting fans we were told they were "out of season". I suspect the same may hold true for the collars.

I have an "ice" cervical collar. I got it from the pharmacy after my accident--a real old fashioned pharmacy---not a CVS, Eckerds, etc. It's bigger than those "collars" you are mentioning here but it also supports your neck more. It has to be frozen (may do ok with refrigerator) and does not last all day but it may help.

didn't someone post once that you can get them from the ms society? (no help if you're leaving in a week....)

We got ours, during our June trip, in the same carts that they were selling the fans. They weren't as obvious sticking out of the carts and I basically stumbled across them. The CMs weren't showing them off like the fans. They were $6 each.

I was able to purchase the last two at EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports) this evening. They were called "Cobbers" there.
Better yet, I expected to pay the $10.50 each, and when they rang up at $2.98 each, I was thrilled.
Obviously, it does not take a great deal to make me happy!
I probably will buy a couple more if I can find them in WDW.
Thanks for all the help.

I have MS too. I got my neck collers from the MS Society for free.
Of course, it has my therapy drug's name on it. It does not work for me. I have gone in July, January and May since I was diagnosed.

Some people say it works for them. It never stays cold enough for me. It seems I am constantly rewetting it every 15 minutes.
I soak it in ice before we go out to the parks.

This is Dizzney Freak's wife borrowing his name for a sec; Sharper Image sells a "Personal Cooling System" that's supposed to work for 4 hours.
