Where can I exchange a Wii game?

I purchased a Wii game for my son at Toys R Us a few months ago for Christmas. Now he says he doesn't want it. I thought I could still return it, but found that TRU's policy for video games and systems is only 45 days--I thought it was 90 days (which is what the rest of the store is). They wouldn't even exchange it.

Anyway I was wondering if another store would let me exchange it without a receipt. Any suggestions to ones that are more open to this?

Realize, though, that video game prices tend to decrease as the game 'ages'. This consistently happens with games my son pays for on release date; often 6-8 weeks later the discounts begin.

Without a receipt to prove the original price paid, you run the risk of getting less in exchange after Christmas than you would today.

Toys R Us won't return video games without receipts after Christmas either, but Walmart and Target usually will. Try one of those first.

Your best bet is to go to Walmart. They will give you a gift card for the price of the game. Use the gift card to buy a different Wii game. I did this last year without a problem.

Game Stop wont take any game that hasnt been opened. I know it sounds crazy!

A second vote for Walmart. As long as you have your Driver's License, you won't need a receipt.

I did this last year when someone gave me The Clapper Deluxe (yes - Clap On! Clap Off!! ) for Christmas. I took it to Target without any receipt. I can't remember if they gave me a gift card or cash but I did buy something else there that I could use.

Even if what they'll give you is less than the actual amount you paid a few months ago, it's more thank what you'd get from some place like Game Crazy (I love buying games from them but sheesh! they give you next to nothing when you take a game in!)

I would try Walmart--today if possible so if it happens to be on sale for Black Friday you will get more for it if the sale hasn't started yet.
