where can I buy disney dollars?

I e-mailed the disney store in the sky and they quickly responded that the dollar of disney is not available. How can this be? This is what I was thinking of doing my fe gift with, being that we are having to travel by plane, train and automobile to reach the boat! Any ideas on how to acquire these?

Besides purchasing them at Disney, the only other way I have heard of is by phone. Here are the threads I came across the information previously.

those links don't work. I don't think you can buy these any more...my boyfriend was involved with the company that printed these, and he said the governemtn wouldn't let them be printed any more (something about the US government being the only ones legally allowed to print legal tender; and I guess Disney dollars are considered as trying to print money....something to that effect.)

The Disney Gift Card is the "currency of choice" at all Disney parks/resorts (as well as the Disney Cruise Line).

And best of all, you may be able to find them at your neighborhood food/drug chain!

Both links work now. Thanks for letting me know. According to the first link, people were able to purchase them as recent as a month ago.

I'm going to phone the number tomorrow morning and find out for myself what the answer is.

They are still available at the parks, as far as people know.

I know Disney Dollars are fun, but gift cards are so much safer because you can save the card number and if you lose it they can reissue it.
