We have decided to take a last minute trip and would like to buy annual passes since we plan to go again within the next year.

Is there somewhere that I can buy an annual pass in Florida near WDW when I get there or do I have to purchase on line or over the phone and pay the express shipping?

you can buy AP at any gate. you can also pre-pay at Disney Store or your Disney Hotel then go to any ticket window at any park to pick up actual pass

Can I buy them at Downtown Disney?

Also, when you say Disney Store, do you mean the one at the airport in Orlando? I thought I read somewhere that you can no longer buy them at Disney Stores in other states? (and maybe they are not available in Orlando as well).

Yes. There are two Guest Relations offices in Downtown Disney - one in the MarketPlace section and one on the West Side near the entrance to PI. They are open until 11 or 11:30 p.m.

Best wishes -

We bough AP's for our children at the gate at Epcot during the afternoon of our 1st day of our May trip. There was no line, and it took only a couple of minutes -- no longer than it took to activate dh's and my vouchers. Upgrading them 2 days later to PAP's took even less time.

Not sure about the regular Disney stores but, you can buy an AP at the Disney store at Orlando International.

I purchased my DS online. Then mine at MK guest relations. It took about 5-10 minutes to change his voucher for the AP and purchase mine. Also purchased my DH a 10 day pass. The wait to purchase the tickets was shorter than the wait for my DDE letter at Epcot. That took a full 10 minutes and all they did was hand me an envelope. :rotfl:

I was concerned about saving $$ on DDE for 2 adults 1 child i saved the cost of the DDE and about $40. I actually gave the savings as the 20% tip, so did I really save :confused3. Yes!!

If you do decide to make your purchases at The Disney Storey or the airport, please be aware that what you are purchasing is only the certificate, necessitating a visit to Guest Relations at the parks or Downtown Disney to convert them into working tickets before they can be used. There is no monetary savings for advanced purchases of Annual Passes, so why make 2 stops?

As another person posted, you may purchase your APs at any of Disney's main theme parks, or at Downtown Disney. The water parks only sell the Premium Annual passes, as the Annual passes don't include those parks.

If you do go to Downtown Disney to purchase your AP's note that the Marketplace location had been moved to between Ghiridelli Chocolate and Team Mickey. The hours at that location are 8:30 am to 11 pm Sun through Thur, and until 11:30 pm on Fri and Sat. It is best to get there at least 15 minutes before closing, as it does take time to enter all of the demographics into the computer for each AP. The Westside location is open from 9:30 am until 11:45 pm... at this location, try to arrive about 30 minutes prior to closing, as the lines to buy PI tics can be long.

When you go to get you AP, just remember than anyone over the legal age to drive will be expected to bring a Drivers license/permit/ID.

If you are a Florida resident looking to get the discounted AP or any of the Florida resident tics and are of legal driving age, you will be expected to have one of the following 5 forms of ID proving your residency (no exceptions are made!):
A Valid Florida Driver's license
A Valid Florida state issued ID from DMV
A Valid Florida school or college ID w/ picture
A Valid Florida Voter Registration card and valid picture ID w/ signiture
A Valid Military ID WITH papers stating that you are stationed in Florida.

If you are a Disney Vacation Club member, you are entitled to a discount on Annual passes or Premium Annual passes only (there are no discounts on tickets or Seasonal passes). You will need your DVC membership card, as that information must also be entered into the computer as well, and a valid driver's license/state issued ID.

Hope this helps! :sunny:

At the AIRPORT I have bought ACTIVATED Annual Passes necessitating no further action. I have to have my IDs etc there at the airport but I was able to leave there and IMMEDIATELY enter a park without further excahnge. It is one stop AP shopping at the airport. This information is listed on several sites and I have personally done it.

The Earport shops at OIA does in fact sell activated APs now and always has. You cannot get a voucher there even if you wanted one. The store is operated by the Parks and Resorts division of Disney and has had no connection with The Disney Store chain now or ever.

The International Gateway at Epcot is a great place to buy either a AP or PAP or exchange the voucher if you have one. There never is a crowd there and you get done very fast.

You can also buy activated AP's at the Character Warehouse or Character Premier stores at the Belz Outlet Mall (yes I know they have changed names, but it will always be Belz to me) and the Orlando Premium Outlets. These stores are also operated by Disney.

These stores are also a great place to get Disney stuff at a discount. Right now they have Pal Mickey (the old one) for about $30. They also always have cheap pins ($1-$2), great for trading.

I'm sure this is generally true and good advice. But when we exchanged vouchers there, it was a nightmare, taking 15-20 minutes. They had to open another window to handle the line of people that had built up behind us. The problem? Most likely an inexperienced CM. The vouchers had been purchased at two different times and two different prices, and that really threw him for a loop.

But this year we'll be doing it at International Gateway again. When you're staying at an Epcot resort, the convenience is hard to beat.

Many times at the International Gateway you encounter lots of convention folks, too. Depending on the time of day, it can be a smooth experience, or take time, just like any of the other gates.

I've bought mine (actual AP not voucher) at the Disney travel center in Ocala (one hour north on 75). Might check into that if you are in the area.

Opps, my mistake!
No problem. We all make them once in a while. :flower: You would be amazed at how many people do believe the same thing that you posted about the airport shops.
