We are buying a new house and want to replace a couple of inside windows with stained glass...anyone know of a good place to buy stained glass??

thanks! :goodvibes

I know LOTS of great places to buy stained glass. But, you need to tell me more about the size and type glass you're wanting. :teeth:

I do not have the exact measurements with me...but the one area for sure I want stained glass is approx. 2 feet by 3.5 or so? I am not sure...

Ahhh....then you're going to need full sheets and they have to be purchased locally. There are some great places to order online but for shipping purposes the full sheets will be cut to a size of 16X24. Being you need such a large sheet, I'd look in the yellow pages of my phone book and see if there's a glass shop close by. You may have to drive some distance to find a shop but a local glasser can cut the glass to *your exact measurments*.

Tell me this, are you intending to put a solid sheet of colored glass to cover existing glass, or is there a pattern you intend to do? I'm just a bit confused as to what you're doing.

Well - it is a strange set up in one of the bedrooms... itis a little hard to describe...it is in my youngest daughter's room.
There is a "window" - or a cut out area that is finished... in the room that looks out over the main level of the house over the stairs and the window isnot completely covered.
It has 2 smaller decorative window panes inside the the finished cut out. We want to completely cover this due to safety issues (I do not want little baby crawling out of the window!) and I do not like the look of it at all.
The new window, hopefully some kind of stained glass, would not cover any existing glass...Make any sense?
See -I told you it was hard to explain! :teeth:

Sounds absolutely gorgeous but...stained glass in an area that would measure 24"X36" that does not have other glass behind it will be DANGEROUS for anyone who touches it. No structural integrity!

Don't give up. I'm sending you a PM with more help. :teeth:
