Over the weekend, they had Gustav in the Gulf and Hanna near the Bahamas... so where did all the cruise ships go this past weekend or late last week? It's getting rough out there!!
We just returned from a 3 night Wonder cruise (8/28 to 8/31) and we only saw 2 fifteen minute showers on Friday and Saturday. Besides the short showers, it was hot, sunny and calm seas. Although on the way back to Port Canaveral on Saturday night, I took these images with my iPhone from the back of the ship.
I must say, the ship officers do an outstanding job of steering the ship around nasty weather like that.
That questions reminds me of when I was teaching right out of college. I had a student (a honors-level junior) look me in the eyes and ask:"Where do the bugs go when it rains?"
Speechless. No one ever teaches you about this kind of stuff.
I have to say I'm getting a bit nervous and we are not even travelling this year. We have a 7 night cruise booked for September next year. I knew it was hurricane season when I booked and was fine with that. Its just the more i hear about them, the more nervous I get.
