Where Are the Characters?

Where Are the Characters? Our kids' favorite thing to do is to get character autographs. They got over 100 @ Disney World; including CMs, table attendants, etc. Will they have such luck at Disneyland, and if so, where are they all?

Some have set locations that you can find on the map they give you. Like Ariel. Others are in certain areas.

This trip I was Jack Sparrow on Pirate's Lair Island, Cruella by the Main Street Bank. Jasmin and Aladdin and Goofy were in Hollywood in CA. Buzz was in Tomorrow Land. Minnie Mouse was in the lobby of the GCH.

I was wishing I had a check list just to check off who I saw. I'm not going to wait in line for pictures but just fun to character watch.

Oh yeah, Some can be found in their houses at Toon Town during certain times.

If you go to City Hall first thing, you can get a list of what characters and where they are appearing for the day.

Pooh characters are in Critter Country.

The Fab 5 are in Toontown. Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale make regular appearances throughout the day on Main Street. You may also find Captain Hook and Smee.

The princesses tend to stay at the Princess Faire unless you attend on of the Princess meals at Ariel's Grotto.

Captain Jack can be found either in New Orleans Square or Pirate's Lair.

It depends on the time of year and how many characters will be out. I think more characters are out during busier times of the year. I would just check with City Hall.

ive heard at city hall you can ask for a list of who and where and when that day.

When we were there in June, on one morning there were a few right as you enter the main gates and then a few more on Main Street.

We also saw a few in the Hollywood section of CA!

If you want to save time go do a character meal but it wont save on the pocket book lol.

• Fab 5 and Chip & Dale - Toontown, and usually at opening one or two of them will be on Main Street right after the underpass from the railroad.
• Winnie the Pooh & Friends - Critter Country
• Jack Sparrow - Pirate's Lair Island after the show.
• Ariel - Ariel's Grotto near the Matterhorn
• Princesses - Princess Fantasy Faire
• Aladdin & Jasmine - After the Aladdin Show.
• Alice & The Mad Hatter - Fantasyland general area.
• Peter Pan & Wendy - Fantasyland general area.
• Buzz Lightyear - Tomorrowland

And usually they have characters out before the parade. I have seen Gepetto and the Evil Queen.

California Adventure​

• Stitch - Sunshine Plaza
• Sulley - Hollywood Backlot on the corner leading to ToT.
• Cruella DeVil - Hollywood Backlot, she has a trailer that I have seen her near.
• Chip & Dale - Redwood Creek Trail Challenge
• Koda & Kenai - Golden State

I have also seen Sorcerer Mickey, Cinderella, and Woody in DCA running to the bathroom at the Hollywood Backlot but I don't know where you can see them. These is a Hercules but I have yet to see him, which is very sad. Mulan is another character you might see at the Backlot.

And anyone else you see is a huge bonus!

I went last october and i was VERY disapointed in how many were out. We only got 1 pic with mickey and that was after waiting in line at his house!! we saw chip and dale and goofy and pluto TONS of times but that was about it other then seeing them in a parade. We did see a few more at mickeys halloween treat, but still in general i was disapointed in the varitey... atleast compared to what i remember from when i was 8-9

We are WDW veterans and didn't see nearly as many characters at DL. My kids are way more into the movies now, and I was a little disappointed that they didn't get to meet their favorite stars. But we did meet:

Kenai and Koda at CA
Elastigirl and Donald Duck at the Backlot at CA
we saw Sorcerer Mickey at the Backlot at CA
we saw Pocahontas walking through DL
we saw Aladdin and Jasmine walking hand in hand through DL. Funny story: I called my DD by name and pointed out Aladdin and Jasmine, who both waved at her. We followed them to the Aladdin and Jasmine storytelling area, which is where they stopped. We were the first ones there, and I asked if we could get a photo. They said sure, and Aladdin called my DD by name and asked her to come over. She was totally beside herself with joy that Aladdin knew her name (she didn't realize he remembered it from me saying it while he was walking by). That was her most magical moment.
We saw Cruella DeVille on Main Street in DL
We saw Alice, the Mad Hatter, and the Queen playing charades in Fantasyland. This was a highlight for all of us.
We saw Mary Poppins and Bert on Main Street. They were leaving as we approached them, but took my DD by the hand and walked with us over to an area near their exit door. They signed her book and posed for photos. Very cool.

We went to a lot of character meals and that is where we saw most characters. Unfortunately there were a lot of repeats.

We probably saw more but those are all I can recall at the moment. The characters are a highlight for us, so it was a little sad that we didn't see more. But you will see plenty in the parades, so that's nice.

I have always seen them out the most in the AM, right in the entry plaza and on Main St. It's like they are out there to side track the onslaught of people hitting the park.

A few I have seen Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Chip and Dale, Goofy, Alice, Capt Hook and Mary Poppins and Bert.
