Where are the characters at Disneyland?

Back in the day when I used to go to Disneyland, seeing the characters walk around the park was hit or miss. It seems like they are in specific areas on specific times now? Yes? If so, is there a link or something where I can see where to find the characters?

I promised my girls we'd find Ariel!

If you want to see Ariel your best bet is to eat at Ariels Grotto. She is sometimes at PFF but with her busy schedule at the Grotto it's hit and miss and the line is long for PFF.

She used to be at DL in King Tritons Gotto but now Pixie Hollow is there.

What is PFF?

PFF is Princess Fantasy Fair in DL. They rotate 3 princesses at a time in a meet and greet area. Lines are huge and you are not guaranteed which princesses will be there when it is your turn.

Currently Ariel can only be guaranteed to be seen at her restaurant in DCA. And she is in a dress with legs there. Other princesses appear at Ariel's as well. Hoping they will bring back Ariel with her fin at a meet and greet area when they complete her ride in DCA in the next couple years.

There's no specific schedule for when characters are out that is given to the public, but if you are seeking out a specific character, you can go to City Hall or the Wait Times Board at the end of Main Street and ask a CM if they can pull of that character's appearance schedule for the day.

We only saw Ariel at Ariel's Grotto. She was there with Cinderella, Belle, Snow White and Aurora. When we went to the PFF we saw Cinderella, Aurora and Minney Mouse. We got in line about 830 and were number 2 in line. That is the ONLY way to do PFF.

You can find the characters from Pooh in Critter Country near Splash Mountain, the fairies at Pixie Hollow, Alice and the Mad Hatter (and sometimes Peter Pan) at Coke Corner at 2:30 for Musical Chairs.

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto I see on Main Street often or back in Toon Town. We have seen Donald Duck a couple of times on Main Street as well. Chip and Dale have done a little show in the past in front of the fire station on Main Street. Buzz in Tomorrowland. Jessie and Woody used to be in Frontierland, but on our last trip they were at DCA near TSMM. On one trip we saw Fairy Godmother and the Evil Queen near the castle. Bert and Mary Poppins near the castle as well.

At DCA - lots of characters on Hollywood Boulevard and near the fountain by the entrance.
