Where are people staying off site these days?

We have an upcoming stay at Hojos. The latest information is $20.00 per day until noon of checkout day then vehicle “will be flagged for towing”.

Whoa, I missed the fact that Hojos is charging for parking now! Do you know when that took effect?

We stayed at the Tropicana for the first time at June. The past we just stayed at one of the best westerns on Katella but wanted to be closer to the gates due to having a little one now. Definitely plan on staying here again, 5 minute walk to esplanade.

I believe the Home 2 suites right next to the new Hilton garden inn has full kitchens. We are staying there in October. Can’t wait to check it out.

This isn't a good picture but these are some of the "No Pedestrian " signs that will be posted time to time at the Toy Story lot.

Again, no real way for them to enforce it and most people from near by hotels still use the bus service.

Is the side gate on the Homewood Suites sides still open?

I don't mind staying a couple of miles away. I can usually find a really good deal at a really nice property for under $100/night with free breakfast, free parking, and in a decent area, and easily accessible to the parks via the ART shuttle (or an easy Uber ride). For our trip in October, we are going to stay at the Ayres (Alo) Hotel in Orange. The ART shuttle stops right out front, and it's really close to The Block at Orange. The rooms and property look really nice (really good reviews on Tripadvisor), and they offer a free hot breakfast that looks really good (that alone will save a good amount of $$ - as we can usually skip lunch if we've had a good breakfast). I'm a firm believer that looking for, and finding good deals = more trips rather than just splurging and doing less trips. If you look hard enough, you can save a bunch of money and still stay somewhere nice, even if it means a few more minutes on the shuttle to get there. I also usually fly into LAX because it's usually a lot cheaper, but this time around, it wasn't that much of a difference to fly into SNA (and rental cars were cheaper at SNA than LAX), so that will be a nice change.

Oh no. I haven’t read any reviews. They just opened. Yikes. Hopefully by October they will work out any issues. Thanks for the heads up

Hey, me too! I'd rather visit more often so I hunt for the deals too. We've done the Clarion many, many times because of that.

We do the same. I kinda obsess over it. LOL. We like to splurge sometimes too! But saving "most" trips doesn't make me feel as bad to spend that much money when we do spurge. Hahaha!

We just spent 5 nights at the Hyatt House Katella . It was clean and nice and they gave free Water bottles. Cold breakfast included. About a 10 minute walk to gates. Starbucks and Blaze Pizza in the lobby. We got the family bunk bed room. So nice. My parents got a room with a kitchen and living room and two queens. We enjoyed this hotel and I recommend it.

We spent 5 nights at the Residence Inn Convention Center on Katella/Harbor. Loved having a 1-bedroom suite with a full kitchen. Very clean and new feeling hotel. Breakfast is included, but we left for the parks early and just had breakfast in our room. Easy large parking lot. Only about 12 minute walk to the Harbor security. Would recommend and would stay there again.
