Where are my Non flip-flop friends?

Wow, I thought I was all alone on this;)... Im in my middle 40's and never have worn flipflops or anything with that thing between the toes, it has NEVER been confortable for me. Funny my 5 yr old hates it too. Its hard to find sandles for kids that dont have it..but we did find some cute non flipflops at PAYLESS for girls...

Plus Im one of those people who hate feet, anybodys feel, no matter how well manicured they are...There are feet EVerywhere NOW, EXPOSED LOL..

Im one of those people who always wear socks and sneakers in the summer.. I do have regular slip on type sandles(NO TOE THING)for pool days.

This is me too but I am determined to learn to wear them this summer! My dd bought me 10 pair of flip flops at the old navy sale the other day (she knows about my new determination, lol) and I've been making myself wear them for a few hours in the evening every day. So far my feet are killing me (especially between my toes!) and I hate them. Ask me again in August....lol.

That's me too - I can do fabric ones like Tevas but no rubber/plastic.

Those are the only ones that I can tolerate. I have scars between my toes from wearing rubber flip flops when I was young girl. :sad2:

I'm in. DM and DD19 both only wore/wear flip-flops. I can't stand them on me but they sure are cute! I'm early 40's;)

Count me in. I get blisters between my toes when I wear flip-flops. I wear socks and sneakers for casual wear (and for me that's the only thing to wear to DW), but finding sandals for the office is awful. I dread the summer because of this -- in the winter I wear socks (knee-highs) with all my shoes. Otherwise, my feet kill me. And yes, that mean it's pants only for me and I would love to wear skirts, but finding the right shoe keeps me from doing that.

I have a "bad" toe so I have to have closed toe shoes and they are practically impossible to find in sandles. I've gotten a few Easy Spirits and of course there are the ever polarizing Crocs (some hate them, I love them). No flip flops here - ever.

Most Keen sandals cover the toes. Check them out.

You should start with one that is fabric not rubber. I used to hate flips but now I live in them. My first pair I got when I was on vacation because I forgot my sandals, they were Teva Olowahus. Now thats all I wear all summer, but I do wear ON ones for the beach, pool, around the house.

Up until last summer I hated flip-flops. Cant stand things between my toes. Well I was at camp and my "crocs" didnt have holes in them so showering was interesting to say the least. We ran to wal-mart to get a few forgotten supplies and they had no croc type shoes only flip flops so I had to get a pair. I lived in them all summer. Still hate the first minute after putting them on but for convenience I cant beat them.

I find flip-flops uncomfortable too. I just got a pair of Sanuk Yoga Mat flip-flops, which I'm trying to get used to. The bottoms are soft and the straps are padded, so no problem there. They have a fabric part that goes between the toes, but that it still slightly uncomfortable for me, but nothing like the flip-flops with hard plastic between the toes.

I do not like them things between my toes either. I have some sandals from Bass Outlet that I wear, but I am going to need new ones soon.

I love sandals but hate flip-flops. Can't stand that strap between my toes. I don't like anything between my toes but air, sand on the beach, and water if I am intentionally trying to get them wet (hate wet feet if I don't want them to get wet, though).

You need to start with the fabric type first. Old navy flops are comfy, but only AFTER learning to wear the other first.
J crew has some really cute ones or LL bean.

To all who hate flops , they are a learned love lol. Took me a whole summer of practice before I could wear. : )

Living in Southern California, :sunny: that is all everyone wears! AND we wear them at least 10 months out of the year! All day and all night! Well not at the gym.

I went to that OLD NAVY sale and bought 5 pairs. I think I have about 30 pairs. All different colors and styles.

ITA w/ilovejack02, it is a LEARNED love. I moved to SoCal from MA in '08 ... in MA we wore flipflops maybe 2-3 months a year ... so I was not a big fan of them ... but I love them now. REEF SANDALS and RAINBOW SANDALS are awesome!! :cool1:

Yay, I'm not alone! The search is on for a pair of slip on sandals for the pool and beach. I have an awesome pair from Payless from a few years back...of course they don't make them anymore...:rolleyes1

I absolutely depise flip flops. I can't stand having something between my toes. So I spend lots of time looking for cute sandals that I can slip into. Funny thing is my kids hate them as well.

I HATE flip flops! I will never understand how people can stand having something between their toes. I wore my DD"s the other day just to run out to the mailbox, and and I really had to work at keeping the things on my feet. If I had to wear them long term, my calf muscles would cramp up.

:eek:I never knew so many people hate flip flops! I can't join your club because I LOVE flip flops!!! If it weren't for flip flops, I'd probably just go barefoot.

I wear them year-round and have a large variety of flip flops with various colors/designs on the straps. In fact, I just bought four new pairs from LL Bean.

My favorite brands are from LL Bean, Bass and Teva. I don't care for the ones that have plastic or hard leather straps between the toes. The brands I mentioned all have cloth straps.

Oh, I CANNOT stand the things between the toes!! Just thinking about it gives me chills!!!! I DO NOT understand how anyone can be comfortable with those. And, when I see someone at WDW wearing them, I just know they have to have a blister! Those kind of shoes freak me out!
