Where are my fellow non-runners?

I would also love to love to run, but I don't. I would also love to love yoga and opera, but neither are my thing. I give both another try every year to see if things have changed...nope. Not so far. So I just stick with things I do love. For working out, I love boxing, spinning, and boot camp classes. These classes give me the same "runner's high" people talk about, and keep me in shape. I'm at an age where if I don't love something, I don't worry about not loving it anymore.

If you don't like running, my advice is to do something else active and enjoy that! :)

I want to be a runner, just so I can do a Disney marathon....that said, I just am not a runner, unless my child is in danger, then I can run pretty quickly to get to him. I just do not have a body that is built for running. Now walking, yes, I love to walk.

I asked my three-year-old granddaughter (after seeing a cartoon where the characters entered a race) if she would like to enter a race one day. She said "No, races have too much running." I feel the same way.

Not a runner. I can jog about 1/4 of a mile and that's about it. Wish I could. I am sure I am doing something wrong. DH and I walk 5/6 miles 3 to 5 times a week about 8 months of the year. We try to use the treadmill in the winter but it's not the same :(. I envy all the runners. They make it seem so easy but I don't think that is so. We start walking in the Spring and by the time I can jog a 1/4 - sometimes 1/2 a mile - winter rolls around and I am back to square one.

I'd love to run, but I have the gait of a drunken hippopotamus. I don't run, so much as lumber, and I've run that way as long as I can remember. Every step, I land like I'm hopping off a curb. I think it's overstriding and my foot not striking the ground underneath me when I run, but I don't have a clue what to do about it and coaching is wicked expensive.

No, I'm not a runner.

Running is not my thing either. I like walking for exercise.

It seems if I ever do take off trying to run for some reason, I will turn my ankle. I better never be in a horror movie.

I tried very hard to be a runner. Even trained for my first Disney 5k last year and actually did it. My mind and heart would love to be a runner. I love the running community and have made some really great friends who are runners. Runners typically are very supportive and uplifting people. That being said my body had other ideas. I was having such terrible pain in my knees that I am surprised I even was able to do the race. Mostly fast walked it but did some running as well. Come to find out through X-rays I have OA and bursitis in my knees so no more running for me. Barely even able to walk most days lol
