My son just called me tonight and annoced that he is going to propose to his girlfriend while we at at WDW. It will be their 1st visit. I need help here. He wants to propose at MK on 10/10 but we wont get there until around 6 or so..where should he pop the question? We want to make sure we have a photopass person to capture this and there will be 10 of us watching on. Thanks for your input.

Someone on the boards recently proposed to his girlfriend at the wishing well. His story was so cute!

I think you would probably get a lot of good pictures there because there won't be nearly as many people around there unlike the castle.

If he wants to do something fun with all of you involved, maybe he could do it on a ride that would seat everyone together - such as on the Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Small World, Ferry Boat? If he's looking to go more romantic, I like the wishing well idea or somewhere near the castle. As the pp said, though, the castle will be a busy area - I believe to the right of the castle there's a walkway/garden area over the water (by the bridge to Tomorrowland) where they have character greetings at times. That would be a nice spot, no crowds to fight, with a nice view of the castle. Or, if he could secretely figure out a way to get a CM to help him and get a character involved, that would be really cool.

My cousin was proposed to by her now husband of 10 years on the bridge in front of the castle. The family watched from all around, but she didn't know they were there until after the proposal happened.

There are many options! If he has any extra cash, and wants to have her favorite character there, that can be arranged (I think back in '02, 20 minutes with a character was around 250.00). But I'm also thinking that if her fave character is one that is already out and about in the park that day, and he whispers to the handler what he wants to do, they will help him out. I'm sure if he contacts guest relations, they will be able to set him up with a photopass photographer and mayb even some pixie dust.
There is a rose garden by the castle that is always a hit for proposals. The wishing well is a great idea too, and as another poster stated, usually less crowded. If you all want to be witnesses, it may be hard to do it on a ride.

Check out the wedding board too.. they may have more ideas and contact people listed there.

Best of luck!

I had my second proposal by the wishing well in MK. Got the kids to take pics. I gave DW a crystal slipper. It was neat.

How exciting!!! I'm in favor of proposing on a ride. I know its a dark ride, but what about Peter Pan's Flight, or the Liberty Square Riverboat? Very romantic!

Good luck to him!! :goodvibes

I have seen two proposals take place during my many trips to WDW. Both were at the statue in the middle of the "hub" in front of Cinderella's castle. Very sweet, lots of cheering by people passing by! One of them was a bit odd though, the man was wearing a full-length cape:confused3, the lady was dressed completely normally. Hey, I still remember it, so that says something:lmao:

When we were at MK earlier this year... I saw a proposal take place right by Walt and Mickey's statue in front of the castle. It was at night so it had the colors of the castle in the background and they also had a photopass photographer onsite to capture the moment. Actually, if my memory is correct, there is usually a photopass photographer in that area anyway. Tell Son congrats on his upcoming engagement!

I like al of the ideas! I am a romantic at heart!!!!!:lovestruc

I wanted to say congrats! Enjoy!!!!!:goodvibes

I just remembered something else: is your family staying on-property, by any chance? My friend proposed to his wife at Disneyland, and since they were staying on property, he was able to ask the concierge for ideas. They set him up with special seating for a parade and for Fantasmic.

If you call Disney, they might be able to work with him to do something similar, like special seating for the fireworks, etc. :wizard:

Good luck!

My husband propsed to be after a romantic dinner at Victoria and Alberts. We walked back to the Poly along the walkway and went down to the beach. He proposed during Wishes.

V&A would also have been a wonderful place for a proposal. They will get in on it, bringing out the ring for the final course under a silver lid :)
