Where and when to eat around Cirque?

Sending our parents for a surprise to a 6p.m. show of Cirque...where should we make ADRs for them and what time?

One option is a 4 p.m. early dinner at Epcot (Coral Reef). If we do this, will they have time to make the show? (we won't be using Disney transportation - we'll have our own car)
Other option is somewhere at DTD either before or after the show. Any recommendations?

Do your parents normally eat early or late? If they're used to an early dinner, I would suggest somewhere ahead of time. When DH & I went to Cirque, we ate a great dinner at Fultons...then just a short walk to Cirque. Maybe 4:30 reservations there? I don't think I'd want to chance being at Epcot for dinner at 4 then making it to the 6pm show. Also, if your parents are celebrating something, let the restaurant know. DH & I were at Fultons on our honeymoon and they brought us a piece of key lime pie with Congratulation written in chocolate!

We did the 6PM show a few weeks ago and made 7:45 reservations at House of Blues. Worked out perfectly, the show ended around 7:30 and we walked across the way to dinner.

By the way the show was fantastic.

I prefer eating after the show, so I don't have to keep checking my watch to make sure I'm not going to be late. If they noramally eat early, I would recommend a snack before the show and dinner afterwards. I think 4:00 at Epcot is pushing it since they would have to leave the park and drive to DTD. I would probably choose to eat at House of Blues or Wolfgang Puck Cafe because of their proximity to Cirque.

I also think 4:00 @ Coral Reef is pushing it. Even though the drive is not far, the getting to your car from the Living Seas would eat up a bunch of time. And if they don't have thier own car it is out of the question. There are several good restaraunts in DTD which I think would be a better choice.

We eat at DTD (takes less time than having to travel afterward). Last time we had an early dinner at HOB before the 6pm show. It was wonderful. The restaurant was not crowded. This trip we will be trying Raglan Road, again, before the 6pm show.

We did the early Cirque show and then had ADR at Wolfgang Puck Cafe. It was a great evening! Puck's is very good and right outside Cirque

Thanks for all the input everyone...I'll definitely book my in-laws someplace at DTD. This is a surprise for them (they are celebrating their 43rd wedding anniversery while we are there!) They are awesome people and for once we thought we'd do something wonderful for them! :tinker:
Since we'll be completely surprising them they will be in park attire...probably t-shirts/jeans/sweatshirt (depending on the weather)...do any of the restaurants have a dress code? I know it's still Disney and usually anything goes, but I don't want them to feel too out of place. I'm leaning toward either Wolfgang Puck or Fultons. Anybody know anything on these?

My vote is for Wolfgang Puck's, also. We went there last year before the Cirque show. Also, from what I can remember, you do not need anything "dressy".

:smickey:

Another vote for House of Blues. It's literally right next door, which is wonderful, and the food is very good. We had sushi-grade salmon cooked rare on a bed of jumbalaya... amazing flavors.

It would be difficult to find a better spot near the Circus than the House of Blues. Make your reservation either before or after the show, which lasts about 90 minutes. You can't go wrong. Handy location, great food, makes a great evening.

Enjoy.

We went to Cirque and then had dinner reservations after the show at House of Blues. The food there was awesome.
